1968 Identification?

Is the GT/CS identified in the door trim tag/VIN number or do you have to get a Marti report to know for sure?

You need a Marti report. However, if the VIN doesn't start with 8R01, it isn't a GT/CS.

That doesn't guarantee that it's a GT/CS. Just that it isn't if it doesn't start with that. In other words, all 68 GT/CSs start with 8R01, but not all 68 Mustangs that start with 8R01 are GT/CSs.

Thank s for the input guys.
So all the CS mods were done at the San Jose plant only. Makes sense I suppose.
And then this info was added to the build manifest sheet? So that's why it shows on a Marti report but not on any of the actual car's identification tags.

Yeah but if it's a fastback or convertible you don't even need to search for the vin, just move on :icon_wink
