Hey everyone, this is Robinette, Mikes wife, I am writing this evening cuz my husband is too "modest" to share our incredible day. With all the work, time, love and money that you all have into each of your cars, something like today needs to be shared, so while Mike is "tucking" the car in, I got my hands on the computer to share, so here I go. As a wife I have watched my husband for 2 solid years put his beautiful car together, it truly has been a passion for him. A awhile back we were invited to the Niello Concours de Elegance at Serrano in El Dorado Hills, like Pebble Beach, this is an invitation only show and we were thrilled to have even been invited. This was different then any other show we have ever done. EVERYTHING on the cars had to be proven that they worked, the headlights, taillights, turn signals, fog lights, horn, back up lights, even the am radio (which he even found a station still on the air!) and the car had to ramain running until the judges decided they could be turned off.
Once the awards started and they came to get us, they lined us up, only the top 3 cars were placed in the precession, we were at the end and really not sure if we were 1st or 3rd at that point, then the closer we got to the "red carpet" several of the "big wigs" started coming over and shaking Mikes hand, before we knew it, My husband was driving his beautiful car across the red carpet, to accept his 1st in class award. The same red carpet that million dollar cars drive across! I am sooooo very proud of him and felt that you all should know as well. You are a great group of people, alot of support and friendship here and keep up all the great work on those gourgeous cars!!

That is awesome, congratulations to you both.

Now Paul it going to have to put a star next to your registry entry.
A number #1 condition GT/CS, as proven by the results of this prestigious show.

Cool beans!! Great job Mike and Robinette! I didn't realize when I talked to you today, that it was a Concours de Elegance show...and I do remember now that you told me that! Great report!

OH MY GOSH!!!!

Congratulatuions!!! This proves it...it's the best Concours GT/CS ever!

That's why I'm so proud to use photos of it in the concours pages in the book.

What makes this even MORE awesome is the condition of the car that Mike (and Robinette) had to work with. Mike spent many times redoing something to make it right. That has paid off!! And to think of the way he had to work on the car--without a "zillion dollar shop" like those professional restorers have.

My sincerest congratulations to the both of you. No doubt the "FoMoCo" bill was worth it, huh, Robinette?!!

You made every GT/CS owner very proud!!!

Very nice job, guys!! Well deserved.

Thank You

Welllllll, imagine my suprise when I logged on today and saw a post in my name and knew nothing about it. Thank you Robinette!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to all of you for the great comments and most of all, All your friendship and support. I owe this win to all of you for helping me with information needed during the restoration. We had a great time and spent most of the day giving history lessons to intriqued spectators. It's amazing how many people thought the GT/CS only came with a 302cid. Lots of fun and memories. Thanks again to all of you. Mike

I wish I could post pix, on the very first picture we lost the battery on the camera, but Robinette made friends with some people that took pictures of us going across the "red carpet" so when we get that disk we will share them.
