Hey everyone,

Paul asked mme to pass along the word on the latest about the book ...

Dear members of "California Special.Com",

THE BOOK IS COMPLETED!!!
...after three years of very hard work, I have completed the ³GT/CS
Recognition Guide and Owner¹s Manual², and by the time you read this letter,
it will be on its way to the printer! This project has been a difficult
road, but the end result is one of the best Mustang books ever published!
This has been a HUGE project that as you may know, has taken me three years
to work on, not to mention the previous twenty years to research, compile,
write and publish. This quite possibly could be the MOST comprehensive book
on any one Mustang ever published!...and AN absolute collectible!

The ³GT/CS Recognition Guide and Owner¹s Manual² is a beautifully hardbound
book with a textured black cover and chrome foil embossed GT/CS stripe.
There are 224 pages layed out in full color that describe every aspect of
the 1968 Mustang GT/CS, with additional information on the 2007-09, and 2011
GT/CS! Each copy of this limited edition of 2,000 will be signed and
numbered on the liner page, and also numbered with a stamped metal tag
(between 1 to 2,000). This book includes over 50,000 words with over 400
photos, diagrams, illustrations and advertising. It also includes DVD of
GT/CS commercials, and other GT/CS related video. This book has been
officially Licensed by Ford.

I wish to thank everyone involved for their support and enthusiasm all these
years, helping make the 1968 Mustang GT/CS, it¹s books and Registry so
successful. This book will skyrocket the image of the GT/CS in the Mustang
world to the envy of many other Mustang marques.

Retail Sales will be EXCLUSIVELY through me, (and later though Tony Branda
Performance in Altoona, PA, and Galpin Auto Sports in Los Angeles). That's
it. No internet sales will be available from Amazon, EBAY, other
bookstores, or Motorbooks. (this is also a Ford Licensed product).

Thank you for your time and interest,

Paul M.Newitt
GT/CS Registrar.

Here is some additional information from another site.

As per my license agreement, Ford needs ot review it, and then it goes to the printer for 4-5 weeks. The target date to have it in my hands is the first week in November. (The first copies will go out will be to those who pre-ordered).

I will also have the master copy for review--and to take orders--at SAAC 35, at the "GT/CS World Headquarters" vehicle (Mike Jewell's 5th Wheel), and most likely at the Friday Meet and Greet.

Huh, that's interesting.

I have heard horror stories of the Ford review. Hope it is quick and does not consume another 4 years for those of you that pre-ordered a book.

I think I would review the master copy to see if there really is much new stuff or is it just the old book in a new cover with a bunch of information that is free for the asking of members on this site. Or mined from the members of this site.

Doubtful that I will buy one when there are wonderful and humble people on this site that can answer any question you have on the car. Including its history.

Also, this site must review the book for accuracy. The writer of the book may or may not be correct on all counts. Especially Bob Teets must review for the High Country Special areas, which I am sure he humbly donated to be copyrighted by someone. As with much of the information we have gathered. I must say again that this site is “Recognized as the undisputed authority on the history and legacy of the GT/CS and HCS Mustang”.

No one person is.

Rob
