My new/next project arrived from WA this week. (And thanks to Rob for checking it out for me.)

Neil,
looks like a good starting platform! As Steve states, please keep us up on the progress.

Neil;
This must mean you have Peggy's car done, post a pic if you would. Body wise this looks like an excellent next project, and if Rob says the mechanics are good, your away.

Yes, original hood & grille. (I'll put the original grille on Arlie's car, and use a '67 on mine.) I believe all the body panels to be original, but a suspicious spot an the driver's side sail panel.
I'll keep the black exterior, but am undecided on the interior- Black, Nugget Gold, or Red. In any case- it will be Deluxe.
Complete suspension rebuild (front & rear), transmission is a little funky, and I'll do a compression check on the engine to see how tired it may be. It'll be fun, and become a creampuff, but not until I finish Arlie's Highland Green project.

Black with gold stripes is a great look!

So, Neil....
Any chance that when you're finished reviving this car...and I cross my fingers...you'd like to send it back to Wa? I would like to start fresh with perhaps a reliable CS, and this one is BLACK.

Neil,
It seems that you are running a GTCS restoration factory, one great car coming out the door after the next! I hope I can spend my retirement that way too.

(Peggy asked me if I was running a Rescue Mission for Mustangs.)
Here's a couple I've done. They're not Concourse, but still pretty nice drivers.

Arlie's will be Highland Green, Nugget Gold Deluxe interior, Gold striping, AC upgrade- much like the photos of my last one. (It's in the paint shop right now)

My next one will be triple Black: Black exterior, Black Deluxe interior, Black vinyl top. C-4 needs o'haul, minor body prep, AC upgrade, new suspension, dual exhaust.

This week I'm going to prep a dashpad for Donna's CS (I found a really nice original), and recondition the console for Arlie's car.

I get goosebumps every time I think about the fact that my car is being restored by the legendary Neil Hoppe!

I think that deserves a special plaque somewhere on the car!!!

That's what I was thinking! There suddenly is a need for someone to sign those.

Actually I never heard it run. Just look it over for rust and damage. Neil, hope it was what you expected. Cowls did not leak and the floor was in decent shape with just a bit of surface as I remember. Left rear quarter was replaced, but looked like a decent job. Except for the C-Pillar seam was showing some stress.

Car is of course a real GT/CS. Amy, it was not originally black. But that seemed ok before.

Maybe we could start "The Hoppe Foundation"!!!! for GT/CS's that need an experts touch.

Where do I sign up???? :):)

OK, now I'm embarrassed.:embarass:
I just do what I like to do, and after 40 years of doing Mustangs I kinda got the hang of it.
I learned a LOT from a friend in Miami, when I first started this hobby.
(He was an encyclopedia of Mustang data & detail.)
Anyway, thanks for the kind thoughts & words.

He should get recognition in Mustang Monthly or better yet Mustang Times.
