can you please tell me about places where I can go cruising in my california special.

Hey CS68!

You didn't say where you're from, so it's hard to say -specifically.

back in 1981, I used to cruise the streets of La Jolla with my (then) girlfriend, and along the beach.

I could tell you where NOT to cruise in Los Angeles...LOL

Napa to Calistoga is a nice drive. Calistoga is a nice town for dinner, too.

Places that have old drive-ins with street rods to muscle car nights is always cool. Check the listings in "Drive" magazine (in Calif.).

Almost anywhere along Highway 1 in California. Big Sur being one example. Or find some of the leftover pieces of Route66 to cruise (eg in New Mexico) - not quite as scenic but much more historic. But it kinda depends on where you live...

This time of year highway 4 in the Sierra foothills is a beautiful drive. Take 4 up and over the pass into Nevada.

... go along PCH (Pacific Coast Hwy) and enjoy the view, whether it's Malibu, Venice, Santa Monica, or some of the OC beaches: Huntington, Newport, Balboa, Laguna etc. ... make a day of it, take pic's ... if you go early Sat. morning (6am-9am) to Huntington Beach, check out the infamous "Doughnut Derelicts" ... check it out:

Checkout Ortega Highway from I-5 to Lake Elsinore and back.

I have to agree, Ortega is a great drive as is Hwy 1.

I did Ortega in my car a little while back when making my way down to some of the casinos in san diego county. Of course in my car 25 mph curves really mean 40+ :grin:

edit: Another group that gets together is gathering of exotic cars in Newport Beach at Crystal Cove. They meet every Saturday early morning too. Good starting point for a PCH cruise.

Crystal Cove has some nice cars, it's a little more upscale than The Doughnut Derelicts in HB:

I've been to both of these. I prefer the Donut Derelicts cruise. Crystal Cove has way too many exotics for my taste. Donut Derelicts has more hotrods and muscle cars in every condition, from project cars to show cars to all-out race cars.
