Sorta.....we kid of move from winter to cold rain to summer with many temperature vacillations in between.

Yesterday, I fired up Doug II and took him for some fuel. Then a quick 5 minute drive before putting back away. Driving season s approaching! Anyone else just getting car out of winter slumber?

Stephen,
Thinking about it, but currently on my back after gallbladder surgery. Just maybe by next warm spell. I was given a list of restrictions, but nothing on the list about driving fast in a mustang. Give me a week.

The only thing I could smell in the air was gas, started up car, doing some checks, smell gas noticed gas leaking on manifold from carb, time for new carb. Trying the eldelbrock 500 for the 302. as per some posts

I've used the Edelbrock 500, with electric choke. Good unit, works well, easy setup.

Fired up the Cal Special on Saturday and went for a quick rip through the neighborhood. Still lots of gravel and potholes but will be heading for the first car show of the season this weekend - Draggins at Prairieland Park.

Pulled Something Special out of the trailer and fired it up and let it run for a while. Had the fire extinguisher at hand and popped the hood while it warmed up just in case. Ran beautiful, purrrrrreeeedddddd like a kitten, and no leaks. HURRAAYYYYYY. Cleaned her up, powdered its rear, wiped its nose and detailed her for the season. Now we wait for the next event. LOL.

That's a lot better than powdering its nose and wiping its rear!!!

Finally got a couple nice days here also, so I fired her up, went and filled the tank. then a leisure drive to work. AAAHHH, what a feeling, nothing better than the sound of nice dual exhaust, open windows and Boston in the 8 track.

I'm a happy guy now, bring on the summer.....

IIRC there's already an Edelbrock carb on the car. I'll verify tomorrow when I take the driver's door to the body shop.

Sorry, I don't mean on that car. It's more of a general question.

Dropped my car off at a restorer's shop up in Cameron Park here in Sacramento. Having baby restored, painted, AC install, etc. Will be out of commission for a little more than two months. Ugh, hard to wait.

And Neil and Mike, ok, I broke down and it is getting repainted with Highland Green (which was the original color).
