I need to touch-up some scratches on the chrome-colored part of the plastic on my instrument bezel. Does anyone know what color and type of paint I should use?

Thanks

James

Isn't that mylar covering the plastic? Can you rechrome plastic? Or do you mean re-mylar it? (Is there such a thing?)

I used to own a 66 (Mustang) coupe and the mylar peeled off my instrument bezels so I used chrome paint and a small brush and painted it all. It took forever! (That was when I was younger and had more time). It turned out nice but it wasn't as shinny as the original mylar.

DD - Where did you get your new bezel from? And were you happy with it?
Can you just replace the bezel frames? (Still learning.)

You can get a bezel for the complete instrument panel for ~$60 from MustangsPlus...

http://mustangsplus.com/

For example,

http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MPFMP&Product_Code=02589&Category_Code=inst_bezel

In my case I have I just have a couple of small scratches that I want to touch up. Dont really want to spend the $60 and go through the hassle of replacing the whole bezel. So, I'm just looking for what the paint might be for that color touch up paint...

Amy, any Mustang parts house has it as p51 mentioned. I got mine at either Burch Ford in CA. or Larry's T-Bird and Mustangs. Gosh it was a loooong time ago and it still looks very good. The bezel is one piece.
