GT package value?

I didn't see a value for the GT package or for competition suspension. I have an "S" code 4-speed CSGT w the GT package and 8,000rpm tach. Would that just be part of the 60% you get for the 390 4v engine?

One need to note that to get the 60-120% (which seem quite high) add on for the 390/428 all the correct parts would need to be there, not just a VIN...

390 engine= 60%
4 speed= 7%
GT package=10%
console= 2%

Looks like you need to add 79%

Thanx, I see the sprint package above @ 10% but not the GT.... That being said, I have all 428cj running gear at the moment. I wonder how that affects the price? Personally I would prefer to have it this way....but I can see that to a purist it might make it less valuable. I'm thinking of selling and can put all "correct" 390GT running gear in the car....just would rather not if someone is willing to pay as much or more for the way it is.... I have a 70 428cj Mach I I could put the 428cj stuff in. Hmmm, I should probably just do that since the 390GT stuff is a lot cheaper to come up with!

Probably as its a somewhat random guide.

Not sure how they get -10% for a manual top, when that drops the price of a top end car by over $3000, for a $1000 add-on that takes an hour or two and any handy person can install easily with hand tools. Yet a center console, harder part to find and about the same price is only 2%.

IMO not many who knows these cars well would buy those numbers. If someone used those values to try to value a car to me, I'd have to pass and show 'em a lot of cars on the market for far less.

Without a clear explantion of where and what cars they used, even thought they say its based on "actual sales", without knowing where and how many the numbers are suspect.

Any one guide is not realistic as in different markets and at different times of the year the prices vary, you'll get more in LA than in Topeka due to location (nothing for or against either, just an example of biger vs smaller market) less in winter or around the holidays (less spend cash available, not driving weather most places), more in spring/summer.

Similar, but not quite as bad as using BJ prices as a guide, they are "actual sales" too...

Well, I thought the % added for the engine options was far more realistic at least. NADA's 10% or 15% for a 390 GT is way off in my opinion! 60% for the 390 and 120% for the 428cj seems a lot closer to reality, though the rarity of these engines in these cars makes for a limited data base to draw from... How many 428cj CSGT's have you heard of selling lately? Or 390GT's for that matter. I like how it has far more options taken into account as well.

As only 3 428's GT/CS's were made, and 9 HSC's for this model, possible that it more than doubles the value as extremely rare cars (and how many times did they get sale data to get their "market value?) A couple hundred 390's (~5%, vs 3% for non GT/CS) and don't see them bringing that premium in the Mustangs so think the 60% is a bit of a stretch. As noted 10-15% is very low, I'd split the difference.

A reasonable guideline. But each car needs to be judged on its own merit, location, and how motivated the buyer and seller are.

Oddly the registry search here omits the ability to list by engine, but it looks like no 428's are here.

I thought Scott Fuller had one of the 428 GT/CS's?

Scott Fullers' is a HCS CJ car. John McGilvary's old car is a true CJ GT/CS.

I have a Marti Report on another CJ GT/CS, also in Utah, but owner info is unknown. Suppossed to still be owned by the original owners. White with Ivy Gold interior, Black paint stripe. 4 speed, wide ratio manual transmission. 4.30:1 Traction-lok axle ratio Diff. F70x14 Belted traction tires, PDB, GT equipment group.

DSO: 73 Salt Lake City
Valley Motor Company
Price, Utah. 84501

VIN: 8R01R166017

Would be nice to find this car.

Total R codes in the Registry, Eight (8). Two GT/CSs, Six HCS.
