I had my 40th class reunion just awhile ago. A few of us car nuts that hung out together in the early days were always going at each other about Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler cars. This was always in good fun. Well, 3 of us from the high school days still keep in touch and were at the reunion. Still going at it about, Are you still driving that Chevy and Dodge crap. One still has a 69 Z28 that he bought in 1977. One also has a 1970 440 Duster he put together recently. Me with my GT/CS. I asked the question that if you would buy another name brand car from the 60's or 70's what would it be. Mr. Chevy picked the 69 Mach 1 for Ford (which is also my favorite style Mustang) and 70 Hemi Cuda. Mr. Chrysler picked the 65 or 66 Shelby for Ford and 1970 Camaro Z28. I picked 1966 or 1967 327 Nova SS, and for Chrysler I picked 1969 340 Dart GT. Love small blocks. What would you pick for a different name brand car other than what you been driving for years.

I have a fully restored 69 Camaro. I drive the Camaro and my wife drives the CS. The Camaro is too much for her.

Probably a '72 Buick GSX, or maybe a '64 Chrysler 300.

Being a large man, I have always preferred driving large cars. I once had a 65' Impala SS with a 396/factory 4 speed. I fit in that car. My Mustangs were nice, but I had to shoe horn myself into them. I have a 30' Ford Model A 5 window coupe. A bit small but I love the car. I do fit in it. Never drove an AC Cobra, but tried to fit in one, Size 6 shoe on a size 10 foot. LOL If I was to buy another vintage car, I would probably look for another 65' Impala. It would have to be a factory 4 speed and jacked up a bit in the back. Not an easy one to find. Mike

I like Marty's picks, although I would have to substitute my Sunbeam Tiger for the VW.

If I was to go with "strictly common" I would go for a '58 Vette. Almost bought one as a kid, but it didn't work out.

I'd love to drive a 68 Shelby Mustang for sure.

I you are ever in Eastern Nebraska come by and we can take this one out.
It mostly unrestored, so it can be driven like a Shelby.

I would have put 67 and 68 Shelby, but they are out of reach for my income
