The guys in my local hardware store know I am a car guy so they asked me to identify the car on this can. One of them thought it was a Mustang (not)
I did not know. Can you help us out?

I'm pretty sure that is a Toyota Corolla. There was a year that they looked a lot like the Mustang from the rear. They had a fastback roof and the tail lights had a very Mustangish look. I want to say early 70's, but not sure what year.

Just did some searching. The Celica is the one that had the Mustang look to it. I still thing the image is a Corolla though.

That was my thoughts when I first looked, an early Corolla, Celica had very similar lines to an early mustang, side view, but believe a different front end.

I remember some used to call the mid/late 70's Celica a "mini mach 1" because of the similarity of the profile. Of course Ford used to call a revamped pinto a mustang in the mid/late 70's, for what it's worth.
