1969 Fairlane 500 Convertible. It was my oldest son's first car. I bought it for him on the condition he maintain it. He blew the tranny and decided it was too much work so he gave it back. I'll probably give it to him again when I finish it, since he's older now and will appreciate it more. Here's a "before" pic.

Cool Steve! Your son is very lucky to have you! Maybe you would like to adopt me!:grin: Anyway, good luck on your project, looks like fun!

Speedy,

As mentioned before find a 68 parts car like I did and you will save a bunch of money. I paid $375 for mine and the salvage yard let me keep it at their yard. I needed both rear quarters and drivers side front fender and a few other pieces and sold some parts that I didn't need on ebay to help pay for parts that I needed and didn't have. When I was finished with the parts car I told the salvage yard that they could have the rest and they still had parts on the car that they could sell. Now my C/S has all original Ford parts and not repro.

Here is the website for the only Ford authorized dash data tag supplier;

www.datatags.com

He is expensive, but if you need it like I did what else are you going to do.

I have been restoring mine for 7 years now, but it has been worth it and it is almost done.

Enjoy the journey!

Believe that there are many places that stamp them though the blank tags could all be coming from the same supplier. Not very expensive.

Kevin Marti is also a licensed provider of the stamped tags (not sure where is purchases the blank). When you choose a shop to provide these for you care make sure you use the best place to stamp yours as there are differences (size and other things) between years and factories ;)
