    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

See this ad for what NOT to buy. First, no such thing as a "GT" snorkel. Do not confuse a bad ad like this for the correct one for the "390GT" '68 S code...

    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

Ebay or Mansfield Mustang. http://mansfieldmustang.com/EngineFuelCarbp2.html Be prepared to pay $300-400 for a good snorkel, and the same or more for a heat shield (one on Ebay for $600 recently). One year only and not a lot out there. I do not think these two parts are reproduced, but...

    1968 289 engine recommendation

Right, but if he wants a 289, and they make a 302, its different. Subtle and no one would know unless they take it apart and check, but... On the bores, if you can't use your existing block (which you say you want to trade in, if it is useable why not rebuild it instead of tossing it as scrap...

    1968 289 engine recommendation

You get what you pay for. Time is money. And the cheap palce kinda seems to be an obvious one to avoid, based on your info. If you want to cut costs, and your core is useable maybe find a local machine shop, get the block and heads done buy a cam kit and a rotating assembly to be balanced...

For Sale '68 Deluxe Wood Grain Steering Wheel

Spoke to the guy in New Zealand who did mine, he glued it down. I've found the mylar tapes don't stick worth a damn on curved surfaces, even when new for some reason... It has to have a top coat or it will never hold up to handling on a steering wheel.

    1968 Oil change query...

Every 3 and 6 months? Wow.... Oil companies love you! On an older engine the black is tiny particles in suspension, the oil is doing exactly what it is supposed to. Cleaning your engine internals. Detergents are removing (possibly) decades of grime (assuming an older engine as in most...

    1968 for the electrically minded

First, take one of the good bulbs and swap it with the "bad" one to be sure its not the simple solution. (spent a lot of time chasing a "wiring problem" that was a bad bulb out-of-the-box a while ago!) If its not the bulb, check the socket and bulb contacts. And for any fraying or a...
