    1968 door grille template

So... I went out to the garage and held a grille up to the door. I can mark where the screws go. I remove the grille, put it face down and place a speaker and light on the backside where they need to go. I make an outline. I transfer that to the door... What am I missing that makes a...

    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

Ok, just makes finding correct '68 S harder as its apparently a one year, one engine only thing... the references I have must be incorrect (not uncommon) As there is a lot of conflicting info I'll leave the 428 CJ/SCJ 68 69 70 issues for others to sort out.

    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

My comment was only on the '69 snorkel, the part in question. Not the entire setup (as the pics show, very diferent!) As noted the snorkel is the same as '68 S code with the reducer for the paper tube... the rest is completely different.

    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

Are you sure about that? Thought the '68 uses a small (about 2" round) air motor and that the '69's went to a larger rectangular one. And the lid in '69 is the "star" pattern and smaller than the 68's (at least the ones I have are smaller and the same as the '67 390 dual screen lid) Photos of...

    1968 Looking for snorkel 390 S-code

As noted in your other post, yes. But most have no number on them, ink tamp only, so you need to rely on visual identification most of the time. I have a complete setup available, but will not break it up. Base, lid, snorkel, heat shield, S tube, and NOS air motor. Ready to apply, but cost...

    1968 Correct number for snorkel

Per Mansfiled Mustang, big block specailists... ( http://mansfieldmustang.com/EngineFuelCarbp2.html ) 38 390GT AIR CLEANER SNORKEL, (p/n C8OZ-9A626-B)(# C8OF-9A626-A) So your number appears corect. As they were only ink stamped most ID marks are long gone. If you find one with the number...

    1968 Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve Restoration

Yeah, I'm being me and getting into details most "normal" people don't even contemplate.... As "eye"-gor said in Young Frankenstein.... "Abbey... someone" Nothing like adding this onto the already short schedule to get the EXP done!!!! I can guarantee two, if not all three, of...

    1968 Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve Restoration

Ouch.... $50 for 7 tiny rubber seals, a tiny spring and a copper washer... probably, by weight, more expensive than gold, or platinum... Complete repro assembly $137 Buy individually, gaskets $50, switch $30, prop valve $60, lines $20, so the main body and bracket (or labor to assemble it)...

    1968 Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve Restoration

And can anyone confirm.... The correct finish for the bracket and nut that holds the proportioning valve to the body mount bracket? S2 - phosphate and oil?

    1968 Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve Restoration

Have not seen a lot of info on this subject, and spent a few hours this evening tinkering with a few I have ... will use the best for the EXP repli-bute. In order to get the "innards" out of the block and valve I have seen posts on heat, banging on a block of wood and other such means. I...

    EXP500 Repli-bute...

Interesting side note to the car. The owner of the shop doing the body/paint mentioned his next ad in a local mag "Unique Cars", will feature a shot of the car in-process... Their site and some other shots of the car here: http://sleepingbeauties.com.au/shelby.html

    1968 PS Pulley for a 68 289

Have a box full of pulleys and have mixed them up, do not recall which came off the GTCS... I think it is a 7AE (289, no AC) I also have a 7AA, 6AA, and a couple AF's... Can anyone confirm the 7AE?

    1968 W/S Seal

Depends on if you have OEM or repro glass. Repro is, in some cases far thinner and more forgiving of gaskets that are not quite the right shape. Many repro gaskets, with the assumption thinner repro galss is to be used, with OEM glass result in a more difficult fit of the trim. Carpenter gets...

    1968 door grille template

Interesting, would have thought you hold it up to the door where you want it, mark the screw holes. Pull it off, hold the light and speaker to the back and see where they need to go and then transfer the outline off the grille to the door.. ???? Maybe that doesn't work for some reason, never...
