    VIN Tags

Worked like a charm.... almost. I ended up starting as you said and then used a dolly in front and tapped from behind to tighten them up. Thanks

    VIN Tags

I'm having all kinds of fun putting my car back together. I'm not sure what size rivets to use to re-install the dash vin.?? Does it matter? On the door tag, I have the right rivets but don't know how to install them either. It almost looks like I have to hold them in place and tap them with a...

    Tail light area cardboard filler

How does one go about installing the replacements without creasing them? I have a set of the replacements to put in my car but I don't have any idea?? I apologize for stealing your thread but this seems like a good time for this question.

    Windshield wiper clip??

Thanks guys, Arlie and I installed the wipers yesterday and left it off. It doesn't appear to have a purpose (yet....). I'm going to keep an eye out and see if I find one on another car.

    WTB: Clutch Pedal Assembly

The kit I used for my disc conversion (MPB) included a new correct brake pedal for the power assist. Depending on which vendor you use and if they include the brake pedal may help you in your decision. I have a non-power brake pedal for manual trans. If someone needs one, let me know.

    Windshield wiper clip??

I had a small metal clip located on the lip of the cowl opening for the windshield wiper arm post. There was only one on the drivers side and it was located at about the 7 o'clock position when viewed from the front of the car. The clip was installed with the small size up as in the photo...

    Wish List

Wow! All these years I thought it was the E.P.E.T., N.P. that designed manufactured these parts for me. Elves Performance Engineering and Technical Division, North Pole. To say the least, I'm, crushed ..... My view of the elves has been changed forever

Should I repaint my car to original?

I guess I can chime in here a bit. I took mine down to bare nothing (chemical stripped) and went back with the original color, Alcapulco Blue. I spent many an evening with the delema stripes or no stripes. In the end I chose to add the stripes and go with what made me happy. The purists will...

    Picked it up!

Rob, I have to give credit for the stripes idea to David Athens. I have liked the look of his car since I first bought mine and decided to restore it. The idea kind of morphed to the present version over the last two years. For the dimensions, I used the proportions for the Shelby Lemans...

Hey Y'all, I picked it up from Larry today and brought it home, YAY!!!. He did a great job with it and I am very happy. It feels really good to have my GT/CS in the garage again. Now starts the really fun part. I don't have many photos to share but here are a few. I was really fortunate and...

New long block, will it work?

My Father knows the owner of GPD (Genuine Parts Dist) and has worked out a deal for me to get an engine and some parts from him. Kind of a one shot deal so I wanted to put a parts list together before I called him. I have my original 289 and 100% of the parts that came with it. I have an...

How do you pull the Control Valve off the Pitman Arm?

There are a couple of ways David. The first is to get a pitman arm removal tool and do it by the book. The second is to use a 5 pound sledge. Loosen the nut to the last few screws (so when it comes loose it doesn't hit the floor). After you loosen the screw nail the end with a hammer from...

Requesting Marti Reports for the GT/CS Registry (in upcoming book)

Paul, I just read on another thread that you wanted the Marti, original documentation if available and door tag information. I can't remember if I sent you door tag information or not. Should I just drop it in a letter and mail it to you maybe again? Cheers Bill
