    J-code GT Convertible

This is a sweet car. J code, numbers matching, GT, deluxe interior. Last bid was $19,900. Maybe that is the current market!!?? If this car is a nice as it sounds, I was thinking it would be a good buy below $25,000.

    . '66 radio options

Probably not helpful for your 1966, but here is what my 1968 looks like. Alpine with ipod cable. Fits in stock location, with minor modifications. I also have 4 Focal speakers, two in the front kick panels and two in the rear. I think it sounds great and love using it with my iphone.

    1968 GT/CS Convertible

Marty, I think you might find it kinda of funny, the guy who built the car originally, had all the factory markings added to the engine bay and undercarriage. Just wish he had put on the california special scripts correctly and removed the running horse emblem on the front quarters. David

    1968 GT/CS Convertible

There is a thread here somewhere that talks about the possibility of "production" GT/CS convertibles. Probably over four years old. You can try and use the search function to find it. I exchanged emails with Paul Newitt about this a year of so ago. He said: o 0% chance Galpin made...

Metuchen New Jersey. Mine came from that factory too!

    1968 Matching # 302

How much of the original engine is there? Heads, Intake and Exhaust manfolds, Carb, Distributor, Coil, Water Pump, Alternator, Air Cleaner assembly. If it is just the original block, those additional parts could add up and/or be difficult to find. Tough call. I'd guess you would be into the...

For Sale Red '68 HCS in Connecticut

Not too surprising. The stripe kits for the HCS come with the GT/CS section. They add in some extra pieces to finish the HCS sticker, and you discard the GT/CS part. The HCS stickers do not come with the stripe kit, you need to contact Bob.

Interior picture through a rolled up window? You might be right.

    1968 Rear End Work

What tranny do you have in the car, assuming C6, and how tall are your wheels and tires? Also, you planning on doing any highway driving, or just around town with an occassional romp over 65MPH? Personally, I would not go any higher than 3:55's (unless your tires are pretty tall). That is...

    1968 Factory Disc brakes

The one I have sitting around, taking up space in my garage, also has 4. I was told it was taken off a 68 Mustang.

1968 Help with tire size !!

Looks great! However, the tires are on backwards:wink: Any one with a HCS that has recently purchased a tape kit should have the extra GT/CS for the side scoops. It comes with the package, but is not used. David

    1968 HCS core support markings

Pretty cool. The only marking I ever found on my HCS was a "5" on the floor under the passenger seat.

    1968 Mini Tach

Mustangs Unlimited sell a white faced mini tach from retrogauge, but not the black any more. Maybe the white ones are left over stock? I found him (Mike - Retrogauge) on ebay and sent a message asking what was going on. Looks like he has not been on ebay for a few years. Hope he is ok...

    1968 Mini Tach

I noticed that a little while back. Read that they sometimes come up on ebay. If someone made something similar, I would be interested. I have a mini, but it is a half circle and very hard to read. Was in my HCS when I first bought it.

    1968 Carroll Shelby autograph

I did. We have a Shelby museum in Boulder and he used to come regularily for an annual Holiday party. Probably pretty hard to get one signed today. I never installed it in my HCS. I guess I never felt it really belonged there. When I asked him about the California Special, he just brushed...

    A Unique GT/CS Tribute

Nice looking car. I really like the light bar/roll bar. Might add one to mine. This was a coupe originally, right? Sure sounds like it from the description. If so, that had to be a ton of work and costs. Why not start with a convertible? Could this have been an original California Special...
