For Sale GT/CS Project on eBay - May be a BB

Mike the White 4.30 gear 4 speed GT/CS is in Wisconsin now. That is an old Marti when he was still calling out the wide ratio instead of close. In the beginning he was calling out the Y axle as a 4.11 like it had been in earlier years. The order imaging was a learning cure he said. Notice it...

    1968 Welded Shock Towers

I apologize for coming off 'testy" fellas. My deductive reasoning was not working clearly on the one side being welded. Thanks for also pointing out the obvious that if one side was welded the other was intended to be as well. Ok I think Danny has the answer with the line item 5 with regards to...

    1968 Welded Shock Towers

Hmm I posted that my J code GT December San Jose had one side welded. I think it is safe to assume not ALL were welded based on that fact whether they were intended to be or not. This evidence was requested by Marty on the CMF and I linked it here for Rob yet has been dismissed in this dialog...

    Coil Spring Tools

I don't use any of them. Posted this on the 428 Reg about 7 years ago. Maybe someone here can find it useful. http://www.428cobrajet.org/forum/index.php?topic=11282.0

    1968 Welded Shock Towers

Hi Rob, I saw your post on SAAC and the generic redirect to the Concours forum. Interestingly enough we have already been discussing this topic so would have been easy enough to link the pertinent thread. Interesting note is my J code GT 4 speed is a 3.00 limited slip and of course a 9 inch...

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

Not odd for an early post strike car. The important date is the assembly date stamp not the cast date

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

The first 50 R 428 Mustangs are non GT drum cars Perhaps not relevant but Cougars are different however they were built on the same line. I have 4 reports for 68 R codes. 2 are GT. 1 GT car is a drum and 1 is a PDB. Same with the non GT cars 1 with and 1 without. They are all May/June cars.

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

Here are a couple of invoices fellas. Note the S code GT had a bigger sticker than the sparse 428 R code GT. Hmmm...now if you could go back into time which one would you order ha! Hi Danny no mention of brakes on the S car. let's use these instead of Marti reports for this fact finding mission.

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

A debate is not an argument. We are all hear to learn. You contribute a lot to the hobby and I personally appreciate that. That "addendum" is proof that printed materials were even incorrect 5 months after production commenced. This is exactly how misinformation propagates in the hobby. Lots of...

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

The fact that every 68.5 R code Mustang was a GT and the Marti Reports always call out the PDB as its own option tells us it was not part of the GT package. The reports do not break down packages like GT, Reflective, Visibility etc. If the 390 were to have mandatory PDB it would be called out on...

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

Marty the brochures were printed before the cars were produced. Often they have incorrect information. The Brochures also show the 427 as an option as an example or the Torino Cobra that was never built being just a Cobra neither Fairlane or Torino.. We have the original invoices and Marti...

    . New California Black Plates

The new ones are reflective. The YOM program allows you to put a set of matching originals on the car. The plates stay with the cars in California when they are sold. To see a car that is 45 yrs old with Black plates used to mean it had stayed in the state all those years and the state is known...

    1968 1968 GT Equipment Option

The R code was the only mandatory PDB for 1968. It was an extra cost option automatically invoiced. The S and X code whether GT or not had to be optioned to get power. My S code GT/CS 4 speed had disc no power and was not a GT. No mention of brakes on invoice or Marti Deadstang GT/CS X code GT...
