    For Sale J-Code 4-Speed, GT

A true GT small block Cal Special is a very rare find. Think we figured at one point that less than 10% of production are GT cars. When you take out the S X and R codes that percentage likely drops dramatically for the J codes. Looks like a reasonably priced car to me as well. Wish it was White...

    New toy

During the 91-95 run in house Monster Motorsports approx 100. We started selling kits to "dealers" in 93 and then to individuals later that year. It is hard to say how many independent but likely an additional 100 kits. Likely another 100 kits since 95 supplied by Martin. By early 90's standards...

    New toy

I built the first Monster Miata in 1991 for Monster Motorsports. The mule car was called 'Ol Blue' and the toughest part of the project was designing the engine mounts. JBA made the exhaust for us and we initially used RX7 rear ends and re broached the Miata axles and boxed the frame rails. It...

    Highly optioned california specials?

Yes Rob the exterior décor group was dropped in 68 and picked up again in 1969. Each item was available separately and would be called out on the report. The Courtesy Light Group was also dropped in September 1967 as well but was replaced with the Visibility Group. This consisted of the...

1968 X codes and Registration errors...

Richard, It depends when the car was built. Some time early in the 68 calendar year the second separate outboard hole for vent tube was incorporated. This has been discussed with relevance to GT 500 vs GT 500 KR as well as the early pre production CJ "135" series cars vs April 1 regular...

For Sale 1968 GT/CS in Seattle

Hi Rob in my opinion a true GT GT/CS or HCS would have a GT Pop Cap. I have not followed any of the anomalies of the pre regular production cars so not including these. My opinion is based on original pics and time spent with Scott Fullers amazing survivor R code HCS and Armond's restoration of...

For Sale 1968 GT/CS in Seattle

It is a nice looking car. Would like to see the Marti. Early J code. If it is a GT the door tag axle ratio would confirm if they do not have the report. Lots of liberties taken under the hood. The 8k tach would be an extra cost option called out on the report or perhaps it is an original 4 sp...

    1968 Vinyl roof seam location

I responded with pics on your concours forum inquiry. OEM did not have a pillar seam just the 2 main seams up on top running between front and rear glass. The material is readily available so getting 2 long narrow strips that run from top of rear quarter to bottom of the A pillar could be sourced.

    1968 GT exhaust tips

They varied a bit up to 1.75". When I restored the 68.5 Scott Fuller checked several of his original cars for me. I settled on 1.25" but anywhere from 1 inch like Robert shared and 1.75" are documented numbers.
