The upcoming Fab Fords show has been talked about in a few threads, but let's make this the official "who's going and where do we meet" thread.

I already have my plane ticket, so I'm definitely there. I won't have a vehicle to enter, but usually sneak in early with some of the Bronco crowd. All the cars are arranged by model and then year, so all the Specials should be near each other.

Should we try to just meet near the cars at a certain time, or do we want to get really organized and grab dinner the night before?

For those who don't know Fabulous Fords Forever is a 1 day show in Buena Park, California. (right next to Knotts Berry Farm) The date is Sunday, April 9, 2006, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Anything and everything Ford is welcome and it's an amazing collection to say the least. If you're going to register you should do it quickly. It's a sold out show every year. More info here: http://www.fordcarclubs.org/

I'll be there. I'd be happy to join anyone from this site for dinner or meet at the show. Just let me know.

Joe and Jon,
I will be there as well. Gosh, I haven't been there since 98. I'm really looking forward to it. I will probably only be in the area on that Saturday so I would be willing to meet for breakfast or dinner after the show.

Donna, you mean Sunday right? The show is Sunday April 9th.

I'm flying back that evening, so I won't be able to meet after the show, but could that morning or the night before (or of course in the show).

Who's actually entering their cars?

I have already entered my car. I am trying to avoid driving to Buena Park twice without getting a hotel there (cheapskate) but I could drive twice if I am forced to.
You will recognize me because I will be driving a.....oh never mind.

Hey Jon, if ya miss your plane I can run ya home code 3 in the meat wagon! :cheesy:

On second thought, with the price of gas versus the cost of a hotel room.....:ponder:

I was just looking at the registration form for Fab Fords. Would we register as a 67-68 coupe or a Signature Mustang?

There's a Claim Jumper right by Knott's Berry Farm. How about dinner there on Saturday night?

Let's go! If they take reservations, that would be nice.
I registered in class 40, plain old 68. I didn't even see the Signature class. I'm not sure I know what they mean by that either.

I can make the reservations once we are closer to the date and have confirmed how many people will be there.

I don't know what the Signature Mustang class is, iether. But it sounds like it's made for our Specials. How many others will be entering their cars? Should we all enter them as Signature Mustangs? And if we do, can the people who have sent in their registration change to this class?

I'll see how I can make it. I would like to meet a lot of you, and get some photos of some great GT/CSs, too!

We should make some buttons, or shirts or something for all of us attending, so everyone else knows who we are!

I think whoever is going to come should meet us for dinner and purchase their GT/CS polo from Jon to wear to the show the next day.

I just called the number on the Registration form and asked what the Signature Mustang class was. She said, "It's for a California Special or something like that." I also asked if someone could change classes if they had already sent in their registration. She said to give her a call and give her your name and she can change it. The number is 562-862-9311.

My plan is to have the GT/CS polo shirts done by then. They should be done in time for people to get them via mail, or I can hand deliver at the show or the night before.

Joe and all....
I just called Mitch at the Ford Car Club who are organizing the Knott's show and he told me I am welcome to change classes from 68 Mustangs to Signature Mustangs but then I would be lumped in with ANY year Mustang....Roush, Saleen, etc. It also makes a lot of paperwork/computer trouble for the organizers to change classes, and they are volunteers.Once you are at the show you may not change classes.

In either case, if we want to park together we have to arrive together.

I don't want to be with any other year Mustangs so I elect to stay in the Class 40, 1968 Mustangs.

One year, I told the folks at that show to have ALL the GT/CS cars park together. They did, however, the parking person that morning says: "oh, someone told us to park all the Cal Special cars together <Sigh>".

I said. "That would be me". Then I smiled.

This is totally annoying. We've got a production about that of the '68 Shelby, and we're treated like we're one of three made.

I saw in the MCA magazine that there is no GT/CS class either, but there is one for late models like the "screaming yellow Mustangs", or Saleen, etc...

Isn't this Southern California--where the show is? Didn't the GT/CS originate there? What are they thinking?

I say "stage" all the CS cars together down the street--and come in together all at once. Get there early.
