"California" emblems

I think they look too fat and too flat. Maybe it's the photo? I wouldn't risk buying these.

Many years ago I saw a Toyota truck with the California Special emblems on the rear quarter of the bed. I had a fit! I thought Toyota may have tried to call a truck a CS but I never saw another one so I think someone just put the script on for fun. But it wasn't the same script as our cars.

Definitely not just the photo. The 'C' and 'f' and 'o' are completely wrong. I don't know what they came off of, but it wasn't a GT/CS.

Of course maybe they're some rare early prototype that Ford rejected.:grin:

The word "Special" isn`t there. I`m sure these came off of something else with a "California" emblem of some kind. Maybe a motorcycle or a guitar.

I emailed him and shortly after that he cancelled the auction due to an error in the listing. He must be an ok guy.

I emailed them yesterday as well. Never heard back.

Notice they changed the description to include question marks before cancelling it.

I just asked if they were sure they came from a CS and if there was any packaging. Mentioned they didn't seem right to me.

I did hear back from the seller on these emblems.

It was an honest mistake. Here is there reply:

HI, Thank you for the info,I have pulled the emblems from e-bay. I've had these emblems for over 32 yrs and I did have the special emblem but they were lost years ago.I always thought they were for the Mustang but a friend said they might be from a Buick GS. Thanks again Terry

I thought they were from the Buick as well but when I looked at pics online the font is very different on those - and not script.
