OK, let's have some barbeque chat....
I was headed to a "show on the town square" in the CS tonight, but raining too hard. So, I did some scrubbing on the chassis, and replaced my temp sensor....been having trouble with the original temp gauge doing some wierd peaking...hope it is the sensor (a manual temp gauge installed temporarily brings temp to around 190...so I dont think I have a over heat problem). Also ordered teal colored paint for my power steering pump to cover the rust.
Arlie, how do you break loose the nut on the steering shaft to adjust the screw to tighten the steering. I tried with all my strength....I thought I might make a slight adjustment to take some slop out of the original steering.
Has anyone here experienced "bump steer" or something like that. I can be driving down the road just fine, and then suddenly the CS will sway (more like jerk) to the right, and sway (jerk back). The steering wheel doesnt move, and it only does it occasionally - but it will scare the %*^& out of you. I never thought of it being bump steer, because I hadnt noticed going over a bump when this happens. Some type of steering adjustment?
Hey David - I want to build a 66 coupe with a 5.0 efi (for my wife to drive - turn the key and it runs kind of thing)....ever seen anyone do that? It will be midnight blue, white pony interior, black carpet.....some day.
How's the cyberspace barbeque tasting?
