In my pictures from the World of Wheels, I have two new easels to show my Marti report and GT/CS posters. If you are curious, I bought them at Hobby Lobby. They are 21 inches tall and 15 inches wide at the frame holding point. They are made of wood and can be painted.

I paid no more than $6 per easel. I have included a couple of pictures so you can see them better.

I wanted something that I could display but not take away from people from looking at the car. This seemed like a good solution.

Paul

Just the thing I have been looking for!! Thanks Paul - I am headed to Hobby Lobby tonight. (The nice thing about the short ones is less chance of the wind blowing them over). Great! Casey

That is correct Casey. I even saw a guy at Good Guys have the easel tied down to a block and the frame attached to the easel. I am sure that would not work in heavy winds but light winds might be okay.

One of my mustang club members bought another type from Hobby Lobby. They were shorter and made of aluminum. More of a desk type than mine. Anyway, you can shop away and buy the best for you.

I don't have a Hobby Lobby by me ... is it a hobby place or an arts and crafts (Michael's, AC Moore) type place?

Staples (Office Max, etc) only has those desktop types. As soon as I saw Paul's pics I PM'd him asking what they were.

I've been looking for these too Casey and haven' found one's I liked.

My thought on the wind was to attach a small chain on the back of the frame that can loop around the easel ... or a dog leash/keychain type clip that you can take on and off easily.
Again - strong winds will be tough either way

Hobby Lobby is a hobby place just like Michaels. You may want to go by there and see what they have. I didn't even think about a Staples or Office Max but now that you know kindof what they look like, you can have a better idea of what to buy.

The aluminum ones I saw were pretty cool if you wanted the frame to be very close to the ground. In other words, the usage I saw was a sign that sat in front of the car that gave the owners name and information of the car on it. A very nice sign and it didn't make a difference how low it was because he wanted it very low. Once in place, the sign was actually below his front bumper.

I have 4 of the tall ones. the tall ones are for inside shows only. They sit so high any amount of wind will knock them over.

I have the tall aluminum one, and I made bean bags to weigh down the rear crossbar so it doesn't blow over in the wind. People tend to trip over the legs so I bought two of those little fluorescent orange cones in the toy department of KMart. They have slots on the cone so I slip it in the bottom of the legs. My easel board is cork and I use laminated photos and thumb tacks or velcro to attach with.

Hey all,

I wanted to show you what I put together last year. It's two poster frames. I put hinges at the top and small decorative chains at the bottom to keep it from spreading too far. I added some felt along the bottom edge that helps it stay put and keep the frames from getting scraped.
