Recently, someone put on a post about a GT/CS watch. While I don't care to own a watch, it brings to mind something I would like to see.

I wish someone sold GT/CS stuff. I thought the shirts that Paul sold at one time (GT/CS shirt with color of your car) was a great idea. I would love to have one of those. Hats, shirts, jackets, etc which would be good to attract more attention to our cars at shows.

I am sure this is something Paul should be involved in.

Interested in other folks thoughts.

Paul

One more rambling thought. My brother has a very cool Cobra racing shirt (blue with white letters) that was bought from Branda. It reminds me of a bowling shirt but was used as a "Team Shirt" for the Cobra Racing Team.

Wouldn't that be cool to have one of those as a "GT/CS Club Shirt"??

You guys must be reading my mind...

I have so much on my plate now, but (since I am also a designer), I would LOVE to make some things. Part of it is having the time, and part of it is $$ to do this sort of thing.

Sure--if someone wants to front the $$, and possibly sell these things for me, I'd be more than happy to make stuff (i.e. Jon?)

I actually have an idea for a GT/CS shirt that mimicks the Cobra shirt. I also have to be careful with using "GT/CS" for things like this, since Ford grabbed the trademark. So--I'll use "GT/CS Registry" for what I make.

When I do the "mass mailing" to everyone, I plan on offering the same T-shirts. I'd like to do key fobs, too.

I would buy some stuff with GT/CS logos, cars etc. on it.

Paul, did Ford trademark "GT/CS" or "California Special" or both?

About two years ago Ford Carlisle made a souvenir shirt. On it was a GTCS car. Like a dummy I only got one and after several washings it's to small. I blamed it on the washing machine.

from an earlier thread -

According to Auto Report, Ford registered trademarks for California Special and GT/CS on January 4, 2005.

If I remember correctly Paul checked into copyright infringement and said he was OK when it came to this issue.

from an earlier thread:

Paul, This is not legal advise, but I checked with an attorney where I work who is familiar with trademark law, and he did not see your book as a problem. Book titles are not usually a concern, but he offered that to be even more careful to have your title be more than just "California Special". Like you already have - "California Made It Happen - The California Special". This puts it in context of your writing "about" something, rather than "using" it. The decals are similar - with the word registry putting it in context.

As a note, trademark and copyrights are two different legal rights. Casey

I think what Casey is doing with the frames is really cool. I also would love to have a GT/CS T-shirt (like the one you sold). I also think it would be very very cool to have a team type shirt like the blue cobra shirt in Branda. I thought it would be cool to have a "GT/CS Team" shirt or a "GT/CS Show" shirt whereas the shirt would say something like that on back instead of cobra.

I looked on line for team shirts and bowling shirts but found nothing that I really liked. It seemed like everything was to much with stripes or multi-colors.
