Rich, you always seem to have a song in your head. :)

Yeah I know ... music was my first choice in career but I went for where a steady paycheck was a little more guaranteed. Still have that guitar playing, singing, DJ'ing past sticking with me I Guess.

Of course now a days with a 3 year old I wake up with songs you wouldn't believe in my head!!! AHHHHH!!!! The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round ... Ha! I hope you all get it stuck in your brains now!

I can sing along to the themes of Dora the Explorer, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Backyardigans, Rolie Polie Olie, Jo Jo's Circus, Little Einsteins ... AHHHH !!! I'm going to need a support group soon!! :frust: :surrender :icon_miff

It's really bad when you actually start saying to yourself ... Mmmm some of this stuff isn't bad ... or you find yourself listening to a CD in the car that was in there from the last trip and you don't even change it!

Some stuff by Laurie Berkner is actually not bad LOL!

My cars got a story but I'll wait till I'm rolling down the road to share it. Fighting a paint bug on the shock towers at the moment among other things. Some portions of the upgrade kits have fit like a charm and other portions, well, they haven't. I'll post some photos after I get the paint bug worked out.

So untill then y'all won't have me for competition. lol

David, after I bought my GT/CS I started looking up all the info I could on these cars. I even emailed you regarding your car. Your car was one of the first I looked at (internet photos) and inspired the vision I have for my final product.

And my favorite verse..
The driver on the bus says shut up kid, shut up kid, shut up kid,

That one always gets my kids eyes rolling.

I used to be a lead singer in a rock band back in the day, so I am always encouraging my kids to sing. Its nice to be out of the little kid songs phase, now that my kids are older, but now all they want to do is listen to rap music, which drives me up the wall. I don`t think theres a whole lot of talent involved with rap singing.

NFRNTAU,
I cant wait to see your final product. I would love to take my car apart piece by piece unitl i got it down to the way you have it in the picture in your gallery. I want to do a ground up restoration like that, its all that is left to do. After painting it, basically i'd be putting together a 12 Second California Special piece by piece that would be awesome.

NFRNTAU, is your final product going to be somewhat of a hot rod!?

Steve,
I laughed to myself when I read this. :icon_lol:
It made me think of Paperback Writer by The Beatles.

It's a thousand pages, give or take a few,
I'll be writing more in a week or two.
I can make it longer if you like the style,
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.

Sorry - just struck me funny.

That's the great thing about the internet Rich. It makes me use other talents. Usually people just look at me and laugh but here I have to say something that strikes people funny.

It won't look 100% stock, won't drive like it's 100% stock, won't sound stock and won't run 12 second quarters but it should turn a head or two. Some with interest, some in dismay.

Since we're talking about our cars not looking stock, thought I'd attach the below picture. I've been trying hard with the build of my 428CJ to try and stay as close to stock as possible but, the engine build seems to be taking on a life of it's own. Block is now bored .30 over, heads have been ported and polished with over size valves and the intake manifold will be a Edelbrock BBF Victor FE toped off by a Street Demon 850 carb. Think if I paint the intake Ford Blue folks will think it's stock.

Now my only problem is I hope I have enough clearance to close my hood.

Don

I have tried to keep my car pretty much stock.
I could not resist putting valve covers with my initals on it though.

I tried to attach a pic but it didn't work....

Don - please let me know how you go with the clearance on your new intake, by the way how much did the intake set you back. Has anyone else tried these intakes and want to vouch for the power increase?

I`d still like to see that Calif Girl if you can get a pic posted. That sounds really cool to have your initials on the valve covers.

The intake was $519.99 from Jegs. I originally wanted to use an Offenhauser intake but, they wanted almost $700 since they are custom made and take 2 months to get. I didn't want to pay that much plus can't wait 2 months to get it.

Hey, I have a set of those on my car - tires that is. And I need every inch of rubber those monsters provide on the back. I love it when I'm at a show with the GT coupe and everybody thinks it's a small block. They always comment - your small block can turn those tires. The fun really begins when I fire it up. You should see the expressions on their faces. You can definitely tell it's no small block. I love it when leaving a show that has provided a burnout area for us. Whoa!!!!!!
