Rob,
Thanks for fixing all my fixes!

Arlie,
Fixes are minor at best! What a crisp and responsive motor coupled to a 5 speed!!! Engine compartment makes mine look sad! Interior is spotless! Paint is not flawless, but awesome!!

Ryan,
It is my honor to tune this car up and you are going to roll in the awards as you show it!! Arlie must love the "dootie" out of you!!

Well, it certainly wasn't responsive when I sent it to you! Thanks for working your magic. Next time I'm out there I'm buying the wings!

All,
Got to drive this beauty for about 45 minutes today. Holy crap does it run strong! Gobs of low end power and the 5 speed is the Sh__! What a gas to drive. Steers great and stops in a straight line. Not sure what is in the build of this engine, but it all likes each other. 10 degrees before on the Mallory Unilite initial and 36 degrees total. The low first gear gets it rolling so easy! the rest of the gears are such a nice spacing. Idles with just a bit of he right kind of loop! Cam is perfect for the build.

I would recommend the T-5 swap to all of you! What a hoot to drive. All I have done is some basic tuning on the carb and a couple wiring things.

Ryan is going to be one happy guy this Saturday when he picks her up!!

Now that's my kind of garage!!! I would give certain body parts to have a garage like that. Rob, you look very content and at home in your shop.

Cheers,

Ron

Well gee, another nice sunny day in Bremerton!!! What to do?? Yaa, that's it!!! Burn up some more of Arlie's gas in the J code!!! Dialed in the choke a bit better and fussed a bit in the engine compartment. Amazing how far you can lug this engine down and it accelerates as smooth as butter!

Got a list of things for Ryan to improve! Arlie said leave him some stuff to do. All of it is cosmetic and simple in nature. Wow, what a solid car to start with!

I will be sorry to see her leave!

Ryan is in the house!!! Try to wipe the smile of this young mans face. Car runs like a top and I sent him home with a small list of little fix ups. What a nice start for this young man. Arlie's engine detail was awesome.

Look out Eastern Washington!!! This car with bring in the trophies!!

Ryan,
It was my gift to you and my honor to Arlie. You are a great guy and chip off the "Moses" block. Your Dad, John, was a pleasure to meet once again and he is one knowledgeable guy about these old Fords!! This car is in a great family!

Let me know when you need to spend more money!! Again, I am honored and all of the little things I did was my pleasure!! And I got to drive her!! What a blast!!

Ryan, You ought to bring it to the Yakima show on the 22nd of September. They have a separate class for 1968 California/High Country Specials. Richland used to have them separate but the last three years they have combined them with the '68 coupes. If enough 68 Specials they may break them out again. I think Bellevue (mid July) still has them separate in their Sunday Show & Shine; and Pierce County MC (Puyallup) has a class for Factory Specials - but that may be a bit to travel (Mid August).

Very nice, Rob, good choice ... I was also planning on using some Mickey Thompsons, but the ST Radials ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-6026 ) ... these should be similar, if not better, than the BFG's that everyone commonly uses, but is just a little different ... I still like the "big meats" in your wheel wells :thumb: ...
