Finally got the front end & grill installed (weather, work, being sick). The fog lite connectors are a pain to hook up with the valance & grill in place.
Critique would be appreciated- to be sure I got everything right.
I'd never paid attention to that before, but I checked it against my '68 conv grill and it's the same. Apparently it's a '68 standard grill in my C/S. The standard '68 grill has 4 verticle supports & tabs (as you pointed out) for mounting the horse & corral chrome pieces. Next time I have it apart I'll remove them. Thanks.
Good for you Neil I am glad to see you get the whole package. I kind of bugs me when I look at at car that has a mix and match interior. You are going to have a beautiful car. Marty
Be careful with the measurements from the book because Paul's stripes squat a little. I've found it's best to use those measurements as a guide to get the stripes roughly where they need to be, then adjust them from there until they look correct.
I was thinking the same thing- seems a tad too low (1/4 to 1/2"). I'll match them to the level of the right side stripes which appear to be correct. Russ gave me a good suggestion to use a laser level to mark location.
Russ also told me they're going to be at the MCA National in Asheville, NC in September, so I'll be able to meet them personally.
LF fender striping done. It's a little tricky when removing the protective paper- the narrow stripes want to lift off with it. Would it be better to let the stripe set for a period of time before removing the protective paper. The door stripe is a long one, and I sure don't want to botch it
Anyone already done this tedious job?
Hi Neil that is looking good I really like those ten spokes. Some day whe I get tired of the concours game I am going to get some of those. Keep up the good work. Marty
Vinyl top completed! I took the car to a friend who has an upholstery shop. He did an excellent job. I'm a happy camper. Next I do the Deluxe interior.
