    1968 Interior done

Very nice work Neil! As always, you're a true artist. Did the console base originally come in black for the nuggett interior? It really makes it "pop". Steve

    1968 NEW GT/CS T-shirt Design is Done

I think you did a great job! I have to admit, at first, I didn't care for the surfboard and roof racks, but the more I look at it, the more it's growing on me. Kind of the flavor of the original Shelby convertible ads. Steve

1968 Cali Special Poss Engine Replacement - Questions?

I think I was misinterpreted a little, so a bit of clarification first. I suggested the newer block because of the roller rockers. You can still run a carb on that, which is what I assumed you were going to do from your first post. I suggested upgrading the internals in case later you wanted to...

'65 "vintage" racer - Fake rust

Barn finds are the hot ticket right now......even if you have to create your own. Steve

    Tail light harness pictures

I'm not a T-bird expert, or even reasonably knowledgable, but there's a good chance that the '64 Bird was a 2 wire harness and the '65 was six wire. Steve

1968 Cali Special Poss Engine Replacement - Questions?

The first thing I would do is pull the heads and see if it is just a head gasket or if there is more to it. You can probably have your heads rebuilt and install new head gaskets for $500, if you want to save some cash. If you do want or need an engine overhaul, I would go with the later engine...

    1968 Help me locate

It will probably be very difficult to find NOS bumpers as well. I had mine straightened and rechromed and they look NOS. That would be a lot quicker, easier and cheaper. Steve

You'd think that for that kind of money, and wanting serious replies only, he'd place a serious ad and include pictures and more of a description. Steve

Sorry to hear it's been such a fiasco for you. Hope it all works out. Steve

    1968 Soldering grounds

Works OK for me. The pot metal measured 0 ohms of resistance. I checked first. That's basically the way they ground originally, but with a smaller screw through the fiberglass panel, and I wanted something with a better contact. Steve

    1968 Soldering grounds

When you say "housing" I assume you're talking about the bulb sockets. I wouldn't bother trying to solder a ground wire on them because they press into the taillight housing and are only held at the base, where the wires come out. As long as the housing and socket are both clean, and the press...

    1968 new headlight switch question

That saves me the time of drawing something up, and looking up part numbers. TOO EASY! I've dealt with Rocketman before, at Scott's recommendation, and he's a stand up guy. Steve

    1968 new headlight switch question

I would recommend installing solid state relays to handle the halogens, just to be safe. There is nothing quite like blasting down an unlit section of the freeway in the middle of no where, at 70, in the middle of the night, and having all your lights go out. "Coffee? We don't need no stinkin'...

    Torino Talladega?

Talladega's (Big T's) were 1969 only, had special badging, and a unigue aerodynamic front end. There is also some discussion as to whether they are considered to originate from a Fairlane or a Torino, with most voting for Fairlane, as there are no Torino dress up items on them. A little trivia...

1968 Electrical problem when I press brakes, lights go off & on

It actually sounds like you have two problems, the turn signal switch and the headlight switch. When the dash lights go out, do the headlights go out as well, do they flicker, or is there no change. I do agree on checking batt connections first. It's easy and doesn't cost anything, but it sounds...

    1968 Trunk wiring

Agreed on the corrosion. If the wire looks brown instead of shiny copper, I wire brush it, spray a little contact cleaner, and then coat it with rosin flux. Also consider that a wire acts as a heat sink and if the harness ends are plugged in, you're increasing the size of the heat sink. If it's...
