1968 Tail Light Panel Screw Question

Looked into this on the concours forum a short while ago. No clear answer. I asked as AMK uses the "carpet" type srews, but my GT/CS uses pan heads close the the RH above. All the same and a fairly unmolested car, would think it odd when it was resprayed (badly) in the past someone woudl...

Question about Basic Off Standard orders came up in another thread... so the magic of the webernet and some searching brought me right back here... http://www.californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2396&highlight=basic+off-standard+equipment

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

It doesn't, never said small blocks did not get single exhaust. As noted stock was single, even on the J codes, but I believe dual was an option (as if you could get it painted any Ford color you wanted I would be willing to bet at least a few J code buyers opted for dual exhaust.... but...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

Sure, happy to post it. BOSE order, non-GT drum brake S code... San Jose Dec 67... Not the first person who hasn't beleived me when I note the fact not all S codes were GT's in 68! (I think it stems from the "390GT" engine in many cases... ) S code non GT drum brake And, for reference, a S...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

Well... I would disagree with the "anything". But as noted the documentation is not comprehensive, as one would expect. Ford didn't think folks 40+ years on would be debating these issues, they were too busy making hundreds of thousands of cars a year... And I still question GT...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

I do not believe that to be true, never seen anything relating to S codes mandating the GT option. Would be interested in proof, as many tell me my 68 S code is not factory, as is not a GT... but the Marti usually ends that discussion... Did not even have PDB's, drums. Which are actually...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

Same, if it was dual exhaust and non-GT no other option. Single exhaust was similar turn down.

    Passenger window adjustment

The regulators (if you mean the actual crank handle stem) can't be adjusted. They are screwed to the body and door shell and are fixed. For complete window adjustment its worth the cost of a shop manual, they cover it well... and are just a handy reference for anyone with one of these that...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

The turn down tips noted in the pic look simialr to those I have seen on non-GT dual exhuast cars. My '68 S code convertible is a non-GT and the turn down tips behind the valence were very similar before I added a GT rear valence and quad tips when I restored it... And the comment on the C...

    1968 Dual Exhaust Tips

The GT option would be styled steel wheels (recently in a discussion elsewhere as to if they were chrome, argent or both were available.. have not nutted that one out), GT hubcaps, GT pop open gas cap, C stripe, dual exaust w/quad tips (requiring GT valence), fog lights, special handling package...

    Best "Bone Head" Story

Being outclassed.... #1. change oil, go to pull out the drain pan and start it for a test... pan has twice the oil it should and a filler plug still in it.... #2. car won't start after being away on a extended biz trip. Spend a while checking this that and the other thing.... nothing...

For Sale 1968 gtcs grand torino california special mustang

Hmm... guess that $25 is too much to ask to validate the car! Wrong hood, regular hood bumpers, no twist lock brackets, wrong grille, don't apper to be holes fro CS rear scripts or reflectors.... could guess some fiberglass on the sides and rear... but the decklid does have the right...

Hmmm.... so I guess you should then wait a few months to put the rear stripes on after a repaint and new seal?

1968 Export brace and sway bar.

As input for a discussion? I never said you were full of anything, just posted information for discussion. The BS was about the totally incorrect "facts" in the quoted article and the idea that the drop only kicks in under hard or long term driving. I guess your experience outweighs mine...
