GEEZZ!! I hate that gawd-awful Highland Green, especially on concours cars...it's hideous!....no..no....wait, I meant..uh..Pebble Beige, yeah, that's it!!

Sorry if I offended "anyone" at all out there with a Highland "Bullitt" Green GT/CSs out there that might be concours, and....might have won a Gold Award, and...are in California....(but what are the odds of THAT?).

For myself, I kinda like Royal Moron...er..Maroon!!!

Paul "get it right" N.

When the weather got nice, I WAS going to take the car out, and let you drive it so you would know what your car would feel like when it was done, but since you don't like that gawd -awful Highland Green, I would hate to see you so embarrassed driving it. Personally, I like the Royal Maroon, Moron. LOL Mike

My least favorite is the Lime Gold, followed closely by Seafoam Green. I often thought that Ford must've bought 50 million gallons of Lime Gold based on the number of cars that color (as WAS mine). I have no problem with color changes, even on concourse cars when done properly. MCA doesn't judge on Marti Reports, just the door tag - which can be purchased to depict the car's current color, etc. I know there are purists that contend that you 'confuse the car's identity' if anything is changed from original configuration. And that's OK with me. That's why they make chocolate & vanilla ice cream ! Different opinions can be a healthy thing.

Neil

When we restored our CS, I had it down to the bare metal and I was installing all new interior aswell so I could have gone with any color combination.

I must confess, I spent many hours debating about wether to paint it the original color or change it. This was the time to make up my mind, it was only going to be painted once, and this was it.

My decision was to paint it the original Lime Gold for the following reasons, other then it being the original color. Most people hated Lime Gold and changed the color of their rides to anything but Lime Gold. Therefore, it isn't a common color and I find that it stands out in a crowd (of red lol). I've also noticed that any color, popular or not, looks good when it is done right.

Hope I didn't seem defensive, lol, I like them all. BTW Joe, I was considering white!!

Lime Gold was the #1 color choice in 1968. It's beautiful when it's new, and I've seen Shelbys that color, and they look just great! The white stripes set it off, too.

It's still popular, since they brought it back as 'Lengendary Lime" for 2007.

...."Perkie"??? LOL!!

Arlie,

Bigfoot has been spotted in the registry. Check it out. No pics. But at least some sort of data.

http://www.californiaspecial.com/registry/view.php?vin=8R01C164145

Or search in the registry for color G (which should be 6 per Kevin Marti's Mustang By the Numbers book).

-Jeff

But without a picture (or a Marti) it's still just an urban legend, just like Bigfoot!!!

I think I saw one in Yakima many, many years ago (a Pebble Beige GT/CS, not a Bigfoot). But then, I also swear I knew a guy in Omak with a Meadowlark Yellow GT/CS with white stripes (the car had the white stripes, not the guy).

Speaking of Yakima............Paul......?

Lime gold was my favorite until I purchased my seafoam C/S. Had a 67 fastback in Highland green a couple years back. Can't get away from mean green!

I don't know about Paul, but I'll chime in. If there was a PB CS in Yakima "many, many years ago" I think I would've heard of it. Of course I left in '76 and anything is possible after that.

It would have been the summer of '77. I drove to Yakima to buy a set of Cragar SS wheels. We ended up with 2 GT/CSs at the same tire store.

I remember that the owner of the car tried to talk me into using 13" wheels, like his, up front to prevent rubbing. Those 13" wheels looked ridiculous. I also remember that it had a tan interior with a '68 Shelby console. The car may have been yellow but I'm pretty sure it was beige.
