I'll be going to the Pomona Swap Meet this Sunday (March 5th) so I'll be on the lookout for Pasadena Motors frames for Casey. Any other requests? Most of the ones on that site listed above are from Northern California.

Hey Donna,

Maybe, I'll see you there. I plan on taking my Mach 1 out there. I'm going to try to sell it.

Okay that would be cool! I might drive the ambulance...that way you won't be able to miss me and it is a 70 so we may be parked in the same general area. I looked at your Mach in the gallery so I know what to look for. Good luck selling it!

Hey Donna,

I was there too, but I didn't have the time to cover everything, and as a result, I didn't see your ambulence or Joe's Mach 1. Did you bring it (ambulence)?

Joe: Did you bring the Mach 1?

I was looking for a black CS that was supposed to be there. Earlier this week I put a bid on it, but the owner wanted more ... plus he said that a guy from Redding was coming down this weekend to look at it ... my guess is he bought it on Saturday ... oh well ...

I took a deposit for the sale of the Mach 1. The guy is supposed to get the rest of the money together tomorrow.

I think I saw that black GT/CS going in when I was leaving around noon.

Yes I drove the ambulance... didn't get there until 6:15 so I was in the back about 6 rows from the bleachers. I left a little after noon as well...all the homies were throwing their sirens at me so I threw mine back, LOL! (Mine were louder) They got really stoked when I lit the car up too, beer makes everything much funnier.
There was a black wannabe GTCS only a few cars down from mine...but it was uhhhhh not something I would buy. It was a 69 Grande!!! All it had was the CS deck lid, end caps and rear stripes! It just didn't flow together right. It also had a white vinyl top and a shaker hood so it may have been a big block. I watched him drive it in and then he ended up in my row.
I hope this is the car you were looking for because now you won't feel bad about missing out on it. I couldn't bring myself to speak to the owner because I was afraid I would start picking it apart. The paint was good and all...I just think he did his car an injustice ...too 'busy' looking. He kept the Grande script on the rear of the deck lid too.
Next time we should trade cell phone numbers so we can find each other.

Thanks! It's a needle in a haystack after 30 years! Casey

But Casey! I did find a plastic frame for TALAN423 from his dealer...so all is not a lost cause. I will continue to look for a metal one for him, and for yours. I had one vendor in mind from the last meet and sure enough I was on my last legs when I got to his space and it was there. I see that 6t8-390gt wants one from Lutz Ford too..I'll watch for that. I am writing up a list of plate frames...why? because they are cheap and lightweight! I figure there is a better chance of finding them here in CA for members.
I even look at the back of cars going down the street to see if they have one I can get from them! Follow them....wait in hiding til they go in a store....:icon_shif

I spoke to the owner of the black GTCS yesterday (yes, it's a real Marti-confirmed CS) and he said that he arrived at the swap meet at around 6am. His potential customer from Redding didn't make it, and even though he had many lookers and tire-kickers at the show/meet, but no one stepped up to the plate for his $25k pricetag ... but then he said that a rich guy came over the weekend to see the car and offered $23k. He's a cement company owner and he wants to, now get this, buy it for his 16 year old kid!!!

I don't think that the father or son really knew what a CS was until they saw this one... maybe the Marti Report (which was attained after I told the owner about getting one) will help the new owners appreciate it more... gosh, I hope the kid doesn't wreck the car ... oh well ...

Donna,
Is that Lutz or Lautze Ford?
The reason I ask is that I just posted a pic of Lautze Ford in that gallery I created with old Ford Dealership pics. Don't know where I found it but I figured I'd add it to the list.
Here is the gallery:
http://www.californiaspecial.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=83

Lautze Ford is the dealer stamp on most of the CS brochures Dodgerbill sells on eBay. Mine has a stamp from there.

I'm sure you won't - but if you come across anything from S&M Ford in Socorro, New Mexico I'll take it!!

And no I didn't make up that name - it's legit!!

I don't know for sure, but at least the owner gave me a chance to bid more than this guy, but even though I like the car, it's a little high for a C-code that's not all original ... has disc brakes, but no a/c, not deluxe int., has a warmed up 302, C4, 3.55:1 gears, ... we'll see what happens ...
