Hi crew - please review the pictures below and advise if you know who might sell these grommets.

They were spread across my engine bay securing the corrugated conduit containing my electrical harness.

I know this is not original , this doesn't concern me.

I cannot find these bullet type screw grommets anywhere in Australia - we seem to only have square type grommets.

please help , ask your friends - this is driving me NUTS !!!

thanks

Looks like those things you put in a wall to hold screws in the drywall. I think they are called anchors?

...GTB, they look like the standard wall plugs used for hanging fixtures & framed pictures with screws. They are at most hardware & variety stores, I imagine...

P.S. What CALIF GIRL said.... we co-posted ;-)

Thanks - I have been scouring our hardware stores to no avail.
I will get my USA connection to check out your hardware stores. The key is the little lip so they dont push through the other side.

thanks for your help -

Yeah, those are standard blue anchors for either drywall or light duty masonry. Any local US hardware store should have them. Homedepot, Lowes, Ace, etc. http://www.hardwareandtools.com/invt/u847387

Interesting way to securing a wire loom. (that's what the corrugated conduit is called here) When originality isn't a concern I've always used this type of clip (the white ones) and then used a self tapping screw through the firewall or fenderwell.

Hi Shaun,
If you don't find them, let me know and I'll mail you a package for the quantity you need, just let me know how many you want.

Check out page 151 of the current NPD catalog. All sorts of clamps, retainers, etc. They have a website, npdlink.com

thanks All ,

Jon - I have the full set of black clips that retain the wiring loom. its just when the guy sandblasted my engine bay them little nylon suckers went as well. I dont really want to go straight into the engine bay with self tappers - but it is tempting at this stage.

Arlie - thanks for the NPD info but i am not sure these clips will fit now the harness is in corrugated conduit as its bigger??

vman - burnings WA didn't have anything similar , but let me know how your get on.

Your holes are probably pretty large in order to fit those plastic anchors. At this point you'd have to get a pretty big self tapping screw, which might be too big for those clips.

Since the holes are already there..
You could use pan head screws with nylon locking nuts. Then use the wire loom loops (the white ones Jon suggested) and it would look good and work well without using self tappers. The nylon works really well to keep them tight.
You can buy the nylon locking nuts anywhere here in the states, included a photo just in case you don't have them. The pan head you can get a short one to fit your application.

Are you sure the regular clips, that slide into the hole then close the clamps, will not work?? I am almost sure I bought mine from NPD or Mustangs Unlimited. I think they are original but slide into the hole, then the plastic clamp goes round the wire loom, then it fastens to itself. If you are interested, I can look them up and post a picture for you.

I'm thinking that if the holes are large enough to accommodate the wall anchor pieces (1/4" at least), then the regular wiring clamps won't fit. The suggestion of the panhead screws & locknuts to hold clamps would seem the way to go. Of course, new wall anchors would work too.
