I was told that on the steering wheel on the pad those holes were lights for oil and other gauges ?

Those 'holes' on the steering wheel center pad are for plastic buttons, available thru most suppliers, cosmetic purposes only.

Green,

I'd go back to the person that told you that and find out where they got this info from.

There was never any lights or gauges on a 68 Mustang on the steering wheel.

That would be an awfully small gauge to try and read.

...I can't believe that our esteemed and seasoned members; Donna, Jason, Niel and Rich haven't heard of this!

It was a rare option known as the "Bi-Focal Special" !

Sorry Green56, apparently our members don`t know of any lights or gauges that would be in the center of the 68 steering wheel.

..I can say it if you want me to Marion, but in a strange way - this thread has me thinking of Christmas gift ideas. 'Think I got one picked out for Neil! 'Sure beats the lug wrench with built-in alarm clock.
