Making a little progress on getting my C/S back together. (Fixing airplanes keeps slowing me down!!)
Got the grill, fog lites, rocker moldings, & bumper on. Next will be lights on the front fender, side stripes, and then the vinyl top. (The vinyl is on top of the car, letting the wrinkles settle out)

Neil

PS
For some reason, I can't upload photos. Will only accept 1 at a time :embarass:

Neil,
I think you are just keeping us in the dark for the big unveiling.

You all inspired me when I saw your car in CA! (But I'm gonna raise the stakes - I have all the stuff for a Deluxe interior.)

I just gotta buy a set of those 15in '68 10 spokes, so neat looking on our Specials.

Neil are you going all the way with the deluxe interor? Overhead console, bright pedal trim, chrome buttons on the seats, dash clock, padded rear quarter covers, wood grain steering wheel, door panels, lower door grills and wood grain dash. Thats a lot of work. Marty

Woodgrain dash panels, bright pedal trim, chrome seat buttons, woodgrain wheel, woodgrain center for steering wheel, door panels, door grills, pull straps, deluxe armrests, console. No overhead console (had one, decided against it & sold it), no clock (installed the mini tach instead), AMFM radio.
Ron (clubpro) also got me a set of the GT/CS carpeted floormats- they look GREAT.
It's all nice clean easy work.

Marty, weren't the padded rear quarters discontinued at some point, just like the knee pad and pillar pads?

Padded rear quarters were allways part of the interior decor group. Our HCS has them and it was built 7/16/68. The knee pads and piller pads went away post strike as a cost saving measure.

I've led a sheltered life- have never seen (or noticed) padded rear quarters.

They actualy were differnt metal stamping than the standard, they used a second small metal corner piece at the top front corner.

I like this idea! I jump in the back seat at every oportunity and often use the special for cross country jaunts - that looks comfy! Do you reckon a local upholsterer could do it with the std 1/4s?
