Granted, it's been a few years, but I literally touched every part on my car and don't remember seeing these anywhere. Would have been nice if he included a part number.

I have owned my CS since new, know every nut and bolt holding it together,
and have never seen these parts on my CS.

I've never seen those on my CSs, but I have dealt with this person before, and he is usually right on with his descriptions and applications. I don't know if these were used on the Shelby Mustangs, but not the GT/CSs.
He is a great guy to deal with. Mike

These are a threaded screw type. Where in the world would they go in the trunk? I've owned two GT/CS's and I don't recall seeing those ever. I wonder what the seller is thinking or where he got the information that these belong to a CS?

These hood bumpers were used on the '68 Shelbys as trunk bumpers, but not on the GT/CS.

If you open your trunk, and look at the sheet metal part of the trunk inner edge, you'll notice a flat round spot, stamped into the metal (on each side).

This is where the Shelbys used these bumpers. They drilled small holes, and then screwed these all the way down to the metal (flat spot).

The GT/CS did NOT use these bumpers. Instead, they used those grey foam strips, the attached onto the underside edges of the trunk lid. The foam took "the hit" as it were, when the trunk was shut/slammed/closed, etc...

If you look at a (left or right) rear quarter piece when the trunk lid is open, you'll notice an inner curved part of the qtr. panel, that you can't see if the trunk is closed. This is where the foam piece makes contact when the trunk lid is closed.

Just because a '68 Shelby uses a certain part, one can not assume that it's necessairily used on a GT/CS.

I believe these treaded hood bumpers w/ a '65 part# are proper for the 64 and a half Mustang, if my memory serves me right. Bob here.

I happened to think: What is there on the stock '68 coupe trunkid bumper locations? Is there some sort of rubber bumper 'thingy" that sits on that round flat spot--on each side?

Or--is the trunk weatherstrip used like one big bumper?

Paul,
I have had a few 67 and 68 coupes. they did not have a bumper and used the trunk gasket as one big bumper.

Yes the 64 1/2 used a forward hood bumper with a phillips head in the center (and this was the part number for that part) but what we have here is a service replacement item that is shaped different from the one used on the assembly line (common for NOS or service replacement parts) '

The 65-66 version without the phillips head in the center (smooth domed head) was also used on 68 Shelbys built in NJ and that is where the seller likely got the wires crossed (even though these would be terrible replacements IMHO)
