I always thought it would be cool to be an engineer.
And why don't they have cabooses anymore?

The reason why they don't have cabooses on the trains anymore. The brakeman would ride in the caboose and told the condition of the train - How much air pressure was in the brakes etc.. Now, a device called FRED (Flashing rear end device) Monitors the condition of the train..

Well, since this thread is about what we all do - I take DT orders at Taco Bell.. I'm going to school to become a Automotive Mechanic.

My husband I manage our family owned, fine jewelry stores (we have 2 stores)in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico while my CS sits in the garage in Phoenix. I think I'm going to drive it down here some time in the next 7 or 8 months because I really miss it, and the weather is perfect down here all the time!

Actually, The freeway down the Baja is not bad at all., and the scenery is beautiful! I've made the drive several times... However, I don't think any one would want to park their cars near Cabo Wabo, unless you want to get some really bad door dings... Or puke on your car!!! The parking places down here are so small the only cars that can park comfortably are Honda Civics and Smart Cars. Problem is...most people drive trucks, so we all have dings galore!

That's too funny...When people ask me what color mine was originally, I always say "puke green". And what's even better... I'm thinking of taking it back to the original "puke green"! What a nice way to refer to our cars!!! When I bought the car I was only 17 years old and it was primer grey. I HATED the Lime Gold and ended up with Highland Green, but now, 11 years later, I actually like the Lime Gold it a lot. It looks nice when it's fresh.

I had a 67 convertible Mustang that was "puke green". I drove the hell out of it. It was so rusty underneath it was about to break in half. I loved it anyway. After I sold it, the guy jokingly asked me if I`d buy it back, cuz he did`nt realize how rusty it was till he got it in his garage. He had inspected it himself before he bought it. He eventually restored it.

Indeed Paul, this was a great way to bring everyone together. Thank YOU for initiating this thread. The "good company" you feel goes for all of us I'm sure, especially now that driving season will be upon us soon.
