There is one here in Smithville. He got big enough to move to a larger building. Kindof cool to see what all people brought in for him to sell. Then, to watch the trucks come to pick up the cars and trucks he sold.

I would say he has a pretty good business.

Just thought I`d bring this old thread up again for our new members.
Also, to add to that last post, is anybody having any success from selling on Ebay? For yourself or others?

...Indeed, I hope all the new folks get involved! This was one of those threads that I think solidified friendships and provided more opportunities here. The site became more "special" as a result!

Welcome all! Post away!!

I'm a Mars'ian

18 years in pet food manufacturing.

9 years as a supervisor, gladly gave up that stressful job to become a lead thermal processor.

We make the Pedigree, Whiskas, Sheba, Cesar, Waltham, and Royal Canin brands.

The original pet food name was Kal Kan.

We are wholey owned by the Mars Family, think M&M's and Snickers.

Curiously all of the major chocolate candy companies have pet food divisions. Mars, Hershey, and Nestle all own or have owned pet food companies.

Wow,
This thread was before I joined. I got to participate on the one that that we posted pics of ourselves.

I am a program manager for Navy Region Northwest Port Operations. We do the all the Navy ship movements in the Northwest. 150 personnel located at NAVSTA Everett, NAVMAG Indian Island, NAVSTA Bremerton, SUBASE Bangor, and NAVSTA Whidbey Island. 8 tugs and 150 small craft. Lots of challenges on a daily basis.

Married to my wife Val for 30 years. One son, Kraig, who is a senior in High School. We bracket raced our 67 Fastback years ago and Val had a great time racing it also. She ran it with open headers and slicks and to date has never lost a heads up race. 11.98 car at 118 with a 428 Cobra Jet at the time. This was in the 80’s, we call it “BK” or before Kraig. Not much racing since then and more stuff with my Son!!! Worth every minute of it!!!

We met cruising town and she was driving her dads 56 T-Bird. This was in the mid 70’s right after American Graffiti, and I had to know the girl in the T-Bird!!! The black 67 Fastback in our gallery is hers!! I built it for her before we were married. It still sports its 1977 paint job!!

We love lazy summers at our cabin at Haven Lake near Belfair Washington. We have an old 1970 14-foot ski boat that I have changed from a 50 Mercury to a 100 Mercury over the years. My wife is an accomplished slalom skier and the boat is now stupid fast. Something Rob seems to do with everything he owns. I share a 1972 Suzuki T-500 Titan J, 2 stroke twin, with my brother. Expansion chambers, jetting and mild porting. I call it the anti-Harley. It is also stupid fast and blows off most stock Harley’s.

We have a 90-pound Plott/Walker hound, Maxi, and a black cat named Wilma. Kraig and I like to day hike and have climbed most the Olympic peaks visible from Bremerton to the West. I am 53 and will retire in 2 years. I want to downside to a single story house and built a large shop with a high bay and a car lift. Tired of lying under cars!!! Restore and rebush carbs and rebuild transmissions for people. I bleed Ford blue and if it isn’t a Ford, who cares!!!

Rob

Well I have been with Casey's General Store, a quick store/gas station, since "88" My primary job is a cook making donuts and pizza/sandwiches but can do almost everthing in the store, Rhonda knows somewhat I mean. I know, not very interesting, but to me, serving the public, I find very enjoyable and rewarding.

What a neat thread!!
I worked 25 years with Eastern Airlines in Miami FL as a technical troubleshooter (mainly avionics). When the (too much) traveling got old, I became the manager of the airline's avionics shops. I left them in '88, as I saw the writing on the wall when Frank Lorenzo took it over. Started my own FAA repair facility, overhauling aircraft generators. The business took off like a rocket, and 4 years later I sold out to Ryder Systems, retiring at age 52. Thought I was on top of the world at that time, but lost my wife of 31 years to cancer the following year. But the Good Lord loves me & takes good care of me. I later met a delightful lady, and we now live in Franklin, NC. We operate the small airport here, and it is sooo fun. We sell fuel, do minor repairs & inspections, rent hangars, etc. I started playing with Mustangs as a hobby in the early '80's (I hate to think of the desecrations I committed on some cars as I learned the correct way to do things!) I teamed up with a fellow that is a walking encyclopedia as far as Mustang correctness and then started doing restorations as a hobby, rotissorie and all. This is my first C/S, although I've restored many '68's (my favorite year). The previous owner did the restoration, and it is GREAT. I'm enjoying this website & people using it. Had a great visit last summer in Grass Valley at the C/S gathering hosted by Mike & his delightful wife Robinett, and meeting folks from this site. God is Good.
