1968 Cluster wiring vendor and specs?

Here's a thread I sent a few years ago. May be of help to anyone working on wiring. Do a thread search for Wiring Info posted by franklinair, I think in 2019. I just now posted it on Facebook. Neil

With the sender wire disconnected, and the key On, what does the gauge read? Neil

1968 Cluster wiring vendor and specs?

Do me a favor: 1.) Remove the wire from the Fuel Sending Unit, and turn the Ignition key to the ACC position. The fuel gauge should read empty. If it does not read empty, the wire from the Sending Unit is Grounded somewhere leading to the Gauge. 2.) If the Gauge is reading empty, ground the...

    1968 Headrests

I just acquired a pair of '69 seatbacks with headrests. I've not had occasion to go into these before and am not familiar with the mechanism inside the seatbacks. My question is- do the headrests just pull all the way out, or is there some sort of release inside the seatback mechanism in order...

Be sure the block & heads are thoroughly flushed, have the radiator core checked & cleaned, and install a coolant filter (splices into the upper radiator hose). CJ Mustang sells them (about $35). Neil

1968 Trick to getting brighter dash lights

Correct, Only the instruments are powered by the IVR. The instrument lights are 12V powered by the Alternator & Voltage Regulator. LEDs and clean diffusers (the blue light bulb covers) would brighten the dash lights.

1968 Front suspension rebuild - current wisdom?

As Steve said, virtually everything comes out of China. I have no specific favored manufacturer because of that. Shop the various vendors for the best pricing. Large $$ orders have free shipping cost. When I re-do suspension I do everything: UCA, LCA, coil springs, coil spring saddles, strut rod...

    '70 Convertible finished

With my limited physical status (but with the help of my son-in-law) it was a year+ to complete. As I said, everything needed attention. On '69 & '70's the entire dash assembly must be removed to replace the heater core. Not like '67 or '68's. Replaced all suspension components, all new...
