Who is it that I've read about that has the Grass Valley show down there? I saw a video of it on youtube at someone's house. When are you doing it again, and will there be a CS for me to drive if I fly down (to what airport?)?

...Mike Jewell "somethingspecial" did two monumental GT/CS gatherings at his house in 2006 and 2007. They were the greatest sort of events one could ever hope to attend and by far - the best I have ever been to!

Owners (and some cars) came from great distance to attend and many wonderful faces were put to names for the first time on our site.

Mike & ROBINNETTE put on that soiree'. I drove from NC to Atlanta and flew from Atlanta to Sacramento, and drove to Grass Valley for the one in '07. It was GREAT, and Robinnette is one of the sweetest gals you'll ever meet. (Mike's OK, too!!) Bob Teets & I were the 'senior' members there. And the Jewell's GT/CS is the nicest I've ever seen.

I got to see them both last year @ Galpin's & Knott's Berry Ford show. DieselDonna rescued me @ LAX abd drove me to Knotts. I've not been able to see any of the west coastie folks this past year- I don't know if I'm slowing down, or time is passing more rapidly. ;(

July 4th pics...

...of the Parade in Grass Valley. Our entry grew from Renee's "Stevenson" Special, a military Jeep and '38 Chevy Staff car to include a 1926 Dodge Bros. sedan, a VW Thing and three AT-6s! The GT/CS was a huge hit as we knew it would be 'Had a great time!!

Had the most wonderful time at the 4th of July parade in downtown Grass Valley!! The weather was perfect and the fly-over was amazing! I can't belive how many thumbs up, clapping and whistles that I got in the GT/CS. One guy even tried to trade me his wife for the car (said she works hard, but I don't think she appriciated it too much) LOTS of admiration!!! Thanks for inviting me Tim :grin:

Funny you should ask, this past Sunday Steve Chapman (1968cal) and I were discussing another BBQ. It would not be until summer 2010 as THIS summer is almost shot, but we were looking at the South San Francisco Bay Area, perhaps Los Gatos for the venue. This would perhaps generate greater interest from more bay area and SoCal folks to travel to. Steve knows of a park/lake/BBQ area in Los Gatos that would be perfect for the get together. We'll keep you posted as things progress. Los Gatos is near San Jose, Ca. and the gateway to the Santa Cruz Mountains. Only 20 Miles from Santa Cruz.

Tim and Neil, Thank you for your kind words about the past BBQs. It sure was a lot of fun. Yesterday was the first time I was able to see the video, great job "CJ". Due to a full plate the past couple of years, it has made it impossible to put one together. We hope we can out due past BBQs with one in 2010. Mike & Robinette

Los Gatos, that would be good, my dad lives in Fremont and we have a really good friend that lives on the Aldercroft Heights road near Los Gatos so I would have a place to stay, doubt I would have my car but I just might make that trip if it happens so I can meet you all.

Book signing maybe? Oh forget that, this book is made by everyone, shouldn't have my signature in it, you should sign your own copy. ;-)

...Thanks Cory. Looks like we're going to continue to "luck out" with forecast temperatures in the '80's vs the usual high-90's-100's! 'Went flying again today to capture yet another formation practice for AirFest. These are new Diamond Aircraft and our camera ship was a nimble RV-6. Three local media personalities also came along for the ride...

Funny thing lately...It's getting harder to stay within the speed limits when driving home from the airport! Maybe it's not so good after all, mixing Mustanging with aviation!

Los Gatos would be great spot to BBQ....maybe a caravan through Santa Cruz Mts...nice cruising for sure.

...Well, the show was an overwhelming success on more fronts than can be digested! Record crowds, planes, cars, excitement and on & on... Many more photos to come.

Two GT/CSs were prominent (up & down the ramps and center stage) drawing curiosity, intrigue and admiration exceeding all expectations! What a fantastic overall combination of the most thrilling and nostalgic of transportation - bringing in people from all walks!

You're right Tim. It was a wonderful day of aerial demonstrations and Mustang fun! The weather was perfect and the clouds in the background made amazing for pictures (even got a few rain drops). I had a wonderful day!! I am still on cloud nine after getting the chance to actually sit in a P-51 Mustang :icon_ecst

By the way, you did a fantastic job anouncing the whole show!!!!

...Not to mention making some new "Mustang" friends! ;-)

Renee's enthusiasm so impressed P-51 pilot; Ellsworth Getchell, that he asked all of us to remain on the taxiway for an exciting "farewell" pass at the end of the day.

Renee's efforts were instrumental in the huge success of this year's AirFest!

Yes Paul...The GT/CS is very happy, but not as happy as I am!! I love it, and I love putting her on display. I get so many comments on that car :grin::grin: All good ones!!! Lots of people at the AirFest stopped to look at both mine and Tim's cars. Lots of admiration!!!
