A great weekend it was. Folks joined us from all over the Nation and everything went as best one could imagine. There was plenty of food, drink, and Conversation. We found two more unregistered 68' GT/CSs, and they are beautiful cars, of course!!
We went through almost 30#s of Tri-Tip beef, hot dogs and hamburgers. Bob Teets was able to sell some of his Fog Lights pedistal kits and Scoop screen kits. Ron Moore (Clubpro) made some good contacts and Marty Rupp was helping folks with Concours details. My wonderful wife Robinette and daughters Amber and Marissa are the ones who made this whole BBQ come together, of course I just stood around and BSed all day. LOL.
Tari Rupp finally stopped by to visit, She was busy in the Tally Room and just could not get away all weekend.
Jon Hanna was there, and everyone was able to finally meet the man who made all this happen. Jon, you are one hell of a guy. Thank you.
Joe showed up and try as he might, could not find anyone to share a Cigar with him, or did he? He filled his day with good conversation and it sure was good to see him again.
Bill Norman (TravelledGTCS) drove down from Washington State, and I learned a couple of things from his car, He is the original owner you know.
Neil and his wonderful wife Peggy flew in. It was sure nice seeing Neil again and we finally got to meet Peggy. What a wonderful lady.
Bob Teets was accompanied by Russ Stearns, It was sure good seeing those two again.
Sheryl Volkman (Batgirl) and her husband made it Saturday. Not to be repetitive, but they are great folks, (aren't we all) LOL Sheryl just oozzed with enthusiasm for the GT/CS.
Ron Davis was on hand to greet the New Model clan and register their cars. He and his wife could only stay for Saturday, but it was sure good seeing them again. I heard a lot of good feed back from New Model owners after the Davis' departure.
Others: Ron Normandin, Robert (sarge), Roy Christenson and Sister Lynn, Vince Salvato, George Santos and his wife, and if I missed anyone, I appologize.
By the end of the Weekend, We had won the GOLD award in the Concours Trailered Division, 1967-68 All catagory.
I'll download pics later as most of them are on my family's SMART Phones, and I am of the DUMB age. So it will take a while. I will also let other folks tell of their experience.
For those who missed it, you missed a hell of a great time.
