I finally got myself a GT/CS. it is a project but it should be relatively easy.
I have posted about this car in the past, I had it, I llost it, now I have it again.
here are a couple photos. I have a marti report stating itis an actual CS. the car needs some work, obviously!!
also it needs the stripes put back on & the grill & the hood locks, as well as the fog lights, so other than the nbody work, i am looking at kicking out something like 1000.00 for parts, I figure

I remember this car. I am glad to see you have it to fix it back up and get it back on the road!! Congrats on the purchase.

Is there anything we can do for you?

Ouch that hurts just looking at it. A grand? Maybe a little more than that. Just in the backend I see 7 maybe 8 pieces right off the bat your gona need, and then the quarter panel. "Look out for that poll! CRUNCH!!!" Anyway as long as it did'nt hurt the frame you'll be fine. Putting them back to right is half the fun. Right?

How did you lose it? Did you do the damage to it or did someone else? Its a very pretty color.

no, the dim whitted chick that owns the car backed into a poll at the mall. I did not do it,. what happened was, I was in negotiations wit hthis chick for over a month, I planned on getting someone in CA to go look at it for me, thats when herr big mouthed brother got involved, the deal went south from there. now she calls me out of the blue, says she still has the car & do I want it, nobody will interfere this time, so I say ok, money went out the other day & the car will be picked up on monday
as for the grand, I already have the tail panel & the trunk lid, so I ned t o buy stripes, fog lights, hood latches & a mustang tail panel.

How fast was she going when she backed into the poll ?
Looks like it could have been ~10mph "backed into the poll" ding.
May want to check that the rear subframe is not bent (from photo looks like its probably ok). Good luck with it all, congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the club.

Cheers!

Stang32. All of the parts you have to buy, have been bought from folks here on the site. We are here if you need advise about where to buy certain things from your list. As for stripes, I would recommend you order those now. The guy we would recommend is a guy in California. A very good guy. Do a search on the site for stripes and I am sure you will come up with his name. Stripes will be exactly what you need but he will need some lead time to get them to you.

Just an opinion. Good luck.

Yes, the stripe guy is a very very nice guy (Steve Goehring) but why are his stripe kits 20 dollars more than NPD?

If I can ask, is the fiberglass tail panel original and if so, how much did you pay for it? I'm just curious what my spare is worth these days.

BECAUSE THEY ARE FRESH AND MADE TO ORDER AND HAVE NOT BEEN ON SOMEONE'S SHELF FOR WHATEVER LENGTH OF TIME. That's why.

Besides, Steve really knows these cars. He knows exactly what color should be on your car. If you order from NPD (which I order alot of stuff from NPD) then in my opinion you could get something that is not right for the car. hicountrybob is correct in saying that he will make them fresh. That is why you give him lead time to do the stripes for you.

Lastly, and I think this is very rare. Steve will tell you to wait until you get the stripes then if you are satisfied, send him the money. I don't think NPD will do that or anyone else you buy from ebay.

Ooooohhh kinda like a bakery..fresh and made to order! I have already gotten my stripe kit from Steve, I was just wondering why the price difference. Steve didn't indicate to me that he made them...said something about ordering them from someone else, and they were backordered. Anyhow, I have them now.

Donna;
I can relate the "Bakery...fresh and made to order" thing. Everyday I pass by the Wonder Bread factory on my way to work here in Columbus and all I can say is it's very hard to not want to stop. The whole area is just filled with that fresh donut and bread smell. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

How come you don`t stop there Don? You need to treat yourself once in awhile. Buy a whole box of baked goods and treat the office personel or the family sometime. They`ll love you for it.

I think I remember that when Steve says "I will order them" or whatever, he is referring to the fact that he has a guy that he works with that actually does the stripes. They are friends and work at it together. Least that is what I remember.

Since I screwed up a side scoop and door stripe, I had to reorder those from him. I needed it quickly as I got all the other stripes on with no problems. Steve said he would make them up that night and send the next day. I really appreciated that since I wanted to get the stripes done!!

By the way - PB GT/CS (my brother) used to be purchasing guy for all those bakeries!!
