    GT/CS Appraisal

This is a very interesting discussion, because the value of our GT/CS and HCS Mustangs is so relative. In my estimation, an appraisal is only used for insurance purposes and should not be used to determine the true value of a car. As seen in this forum, we are avid CS/HCS enthusiasts, and that...

    WHEELS, Chrome Styled Steel

One of my GT/CS's came from the factory with "argent styled steel wheels" and "E70X14 wide oval tires", as indicated on the Marti Report. This car does not have the GT option, but is a highly optioned GT/CS. The car did not have the GT hubcaps. Just more information on this subject. Hope it...

    Headlight Bucket Help

Just a quick note....the fender extension seals are used on die cast, pot metal items only, so the rear caps on a GT/CS or HCS do not use the seals. I knew my GT/CS friends would catch this omission. The NPD part number for the seals is 13044-1A. Hope this helps, Russ

    Headlight Bucket Help

The rubber gaskets are original for the bucket and end caps. They are sold by NPD and are very cheap. I'm glad you had good luck removing the buckets. Russ

    Headlight Bucket Help

The headlamp bucket is held to the fender with three nuts attached to studs on the bucket. It is easiest to remove the entire fender and then take the bucket off. After removing the fender, you need to remove the splash shield, which is held on by three hex bolts. Once the splash shield is...

GT/CS in new Ford Dealer Calendar

It's the same in Flagstaff, AZ. I talked to Babbitt Ford's parts manager, and he didn't know anything about this calendar. He did say that Babbitt's had ordered calendars, but they were not the "History of Mustang" calendars!!!! Oh, well. Russ

    HCS in Mustang Monthly

Tom, Congratulations on having your car published in MM. You have a beautiful GT/CS!! I love the color combination!! Russ

    Sticky window rollers

When I was restoring my GT/CS, I found an easy way to clean the window roller mechanism in the door and the rear quarter. I seems that Ford put quite a bit of grease on/in the gear mechanism and the rollers, and over time the grease hardened and made it nearly impossible to roll the windows...

    Russ in Mustang Monthly Again!

OK Guys, I want everyone to know that I didn't have to give up my first born to get my Mustangs published!!! Interestingly enough, Jim Smart, Senior Editor of MM, took the photos of the GT/CS twenty-one months ago, and he shot the Shelby nine months ago. Both cars were shot in Tucson at the...

    MCA judging rules

I guess I've been extremely lucky, or just plain ignorant about the plight of owning/showing my GT/CS at MCA shows. The MCA judges who have checked out my car have been VERY helpful with the details that made my car what it is today. I've never been questioned about the GT/CS options and...

    MCA judging rules

Paul, As you know, I just went through MCA judging at Park City, UT, and there was never a question about the taillamp bezals. I do carry a copy of both your books, just in case there is a judging question. I think if a GT/CS is going to be entered in an MCA show, it is a good idea to take...

    Argent or Chrome Wheels

Doug, I have a "project GT/CS car" that was a highly optioned "J" code car. When I got the Marti Report, two factory options listed on the report were Argent Styled Steel Wheels and E70X14 Wide Oval Tires (white sidewalls). These options were not installed at the dealer, and the car did not...

ADMIN - Vote for the 2005 Calendar!

Jon, Just another "GREAT JOB" comment about the calendar. All the cars look super, and the calendar will be a huge hit!! I bet everyone on this site is already looking forward to receiving the calendar. Congratulations to everyone submitting cars for the calendar. I have to say, I was amazed...

    Tire Size

I'm curious about the F70X14 tires on your Marti report. My 1968 GT shows the F70X14 size listed on the report, but my GT/CS, with factory argent wheels, is listed with E70X14 tires. My GT/CS does not have the GT option. Both cars have the Marti report. Did your GT/CS also come with the GT...

ADMIN - Vote for the 2005 Calendar!

These great photos will make a fantastic calendar!! I can't wait to get a calendar. Super Job, Jon!!! Russ

    Tire Size

Purchasing tires is a critical issue, especially if you plan to show your car. MCA rules states you cannot have "P" metric radial tires on your 1968 Mustang, in fact you will lose 5 points automatically if you have "P" radials. Radials are legal for 1968 cars, as long as they don't have the...
