Scott,

JetBlue has a special from Long Beach to Sacramento that weekend for $157 RT, and Southwest has their "Wanna Get Away" specials for $49 each way for certain flights, or from Burbank for $68 each way... :cheesy:

This is going to be awesome!!

...'Just want to say how thrilled & grateful we are at how this is coming together. I really can't wait!

Cory,
Renee brought her new book to an annual Labor Day BBQ we went to last night and showed it around. My Gosh!... People were So impressed and I was never so proud to own a GT/CS! You really "done us good!!" ;-)

We will also never be more honored then to have (all of) you here for what will be a wonderful time!

So grateful to you for the book, all of the friendships and again, to Jon for creating this forum.

We'll be pretty busy with the Air Races for the next two weeks, then plan to make the most of your Special visit! Truly can;t wait :)

I'll probably be driving up Sunday am early "for the breakfast". Anyone coming from other parts, that needs a garage for their Special and a bed for their head is certainly welcome, I can put up one car.

I would like to caravan with anyone leaving (or passing thru) the Sacramento area Sunday morning. Give me a shout, and we can arrange something.

The anticipation is killing me, I have a group of fly fishermen coming in this Friday for a week so that should help pass the time. This is going to be a great time and a great opportunity to give my new Digital SLR camera a good breaking in. "Smile"

...I know what you mean Cory. We're waxing up for a car show this weekend, then will do the rest for your camera in a couple weeks ;-) My interim "fly fishing" will be at the Reno Air Races from the pylons and some serious drama!

So Tim,

Got any more people added to the list yet? Oh, by the way, some people have mentioned that they have not been invited, so I am going to say...

Hey everyone, this is your official invitation to Cory's book signing and reception in Grass Valley!! And that's as official as it's going to get!

Please let us know on this thread or by PM if you are going to come so we can make arrangements. :cheesy:

Well said Renee...and Gosh, how positively fabulous this is going to be!! And YES! - All CS.com members are SO welcome!!

Okay, so now we're planning an entire weekend of fun and fellowship (and driving:) with the big day being Sunday, Sept. 27th and an official Book Signing ceremony with Cory. I also see where that is the deadline for submitting our calendar photos to Jon. Imagine a shaded stage with a table full of books completely surrounded by GT/CS Mustangs and a group photo with as many of YOU! We'll take pictures and submit a great calendar entry from here on the day:)

Let's indeed do a BBQ, spend some time discussing helpful restoration hints with Neil, Rob, Steve as well as pony parts with Ron (RnR Classics). We'll have the "Stevenson Special" and Robert's car on hand as well, and shoot - if it gets big enough, we'll request another fly-over to kick off the festivities! On one of the mornings, we can drive to a "greasy spoon" along a scenic highway for breakfast...do some sight seeing around town... whatever y'all want!

All of this can just be the tip of the iceberg (and I wish we had planned earlier to make it easy for all of you), but if you think you can swing it - by all means come!
Your GT/CS family awaits you with open arms :)

Just let us know so we may help make your visit as wonderful for you as your presence will make it for all of us!

Trip to Grass Valley

Tim,

We have been dealing with some family issues but have settled my mom in an adult foster home. So at this point we are thinking the weekend might work out for us and we could make it down from Portland (Beaverton). The hotel listing is a while back so we can deal with trying to find a room if we know what kind of schedule we have for the get together.
It takes about 9 to 10 hours to drive to the Auburn area so it would be helpful to know what the schedule for the weekend might be.

Karen and Ralph,
What an incredible honor for all of us that would be! We haven't come up with a precise itinerary as yet, but Sunday, Sept. 27th will be the main day for all of us with Cory. Rob will be here on Friday as will others and whatever your schedule - we would love to spend time with you! I have requested Thursday through Monday off work, so what ever the consensus :) Though it is developing so quickly, I know it will be an historic and wonderful time!!

Below are the motels in the north Auburn area.
I will be away from a computer during most of next week, but will PM all contact information on my return.

What's the current list of 'attendees'? Did Donna commit? What about Robert from SFO?

Tim can give you a listing of current 'attendees'. I'm not too sure about Donna, but I can tell you that Robert from SFO is not going to make it. He is in Germany right now on business and won't be back until after the event
